Your hero, Laura Rich, the author of that crappy little book-- never interviewed Paul Allen to write it. She wrote a similar gotcha book exploiting another rich man. Here is her blog, something abot how Android phones pick on women. http://www.laurarich.com/2010/04/16/are-developers-the-target-of-droid-ads/ Seems she got fired and is unemployed. http://gawker.com/laura-rich/
Every man has his price. Although, in Phil's case, unless the team comes ready packaged with at least two superstars, he probably won't be interested. If we had a healthy Roy and a healthy Oden, maybe. With our current roster, not likely. Maybe if Miami doesn't win the title this season, Jackson will swoop in to help the Superfriends get their rings. BNM
Nope.... Phil will get his 12th ring with the Knicks a perfect life circle. He'll go back and finish where it all began!
The last time the Blazers won a playoff series, I was in my 30s. I'm now in my 50s. They completely pissed away my prime posting years. BNM
I enjoyed the Mo Cheeks years better than this shit. The miracle minute vs Dallas, the comeback from 0-3 to force 7th game vs Dallas in playoffs, the 12 game win streak (some of the best ball we've played ever), the Steve Kerr year, the game against the Lakers where everyone threw the Bill Walton dolls on the court, too name a few memorable moments.
BTW, is it actually true that the Blazers and Knicks are currently tied for the longest streak without winning a play-off series? Even perennial sad sack loser franchises like the Clippers, Warriors, Timberwolves, etc. have all won at least one playoff series since the Blazers and Knicks last won a playoff series in 2000. BNM
Yeah, and he might play him more than 26 MPG. He might even design a play or two for the second best player on his roster. BNM
I'm just waiting for Felton to say, "how do you expect me to play point guard when there is no offense to run."
Next time you watch the blazers, count at any given offensive possession, how many people are actually moving and doing something. Most of the time, its the ball handler and one other guy. the other 3 are just standing around watching...
Once again, this is spot on. I frankly don't want the Blazers to hire a retread. Identify a great young mind and take a fucking chance. Isn't that how the accidental zillionaire got his zillions in the first place?
That hasn't worked out very well in the GM spot, and the last thing the Blazers need, IMO, is a coach that will be underpaid, can be pushed around by Vulcan-types/Larry Miller, and is expendable. Also, who was the last "great young mind", on his first head coaching job, who took over a team without a legitimate MVP and won a title with that team? I can't think of one.
I understand you don't like Paul Allen, but this is very harsh. Maybe the fact he has dropped off in wealth has something to do with how much money he gives away each year. He literally gives away hundreds of millions a year to charity. He has decided to enjoy his fortunes and share a lot of it with people and organizations that need the money. Doesn't sound stupid me. Every year, Philanthropy.com ranks the American men and women who donate the most money to charity. This year, Portland Trail Blazers owner Paul Allen ranked No. 3 on the list, donating an astonishing $372.6 million in 2011. He was the No.1 American giver who is still alive.
Then I choose to piss and moan and demand that the team I love and follow improve to my satisfaction. Okay?
Or, you could act like an emotional basket case and 'be done with the team' how many times now, only to keep coming back? You're the Jersey Shore cast member of the board these days.
As opposed to you, the "Joe The Plumber"-rank intelligence of "Nothing is wrong, everything is great!", apologist of the status quo. Given the choice, I'll take my emotional unhinged attitude.
