I am, given our current lack of depth at the 4/5, and the fact that LaMarcus Aldridge is the only 4/5 we have signed beyond this season. We already have his rights and will have plenty of cap space to sign him. Of course, if we can use that cap space to sign someone better, you do it, but given the fact that we don't have a GM and our poor track record of luring top name free agents, I expect Freeland may be the best big man realistically available. Signing him will also allow using our potential lottery pick on a PG.

    Fair question.

Because I'm not a politically correct pussy, that's why.

    So.

I can dig up highlights of Failton that might make you think he's a real NBA caliber starting PG.

    But he's not.

Look, all I'm saying is what he seems to be until we see otherwise. And I'm all for him coming over and playing so we cal all see.

Honestly, after LaMarcus and Camby, Freeland would probably be our third best big man right now. He's one of the few promising assets we have. Sign him up and let's find out.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
That's a terrible comparison. I have to question your knowledge of basketball. He's pretty clearly a cross between Jon Konkac and Artis Gilmore, but with a bit of Kevin Johnson form on his shots in the lane.

Personally, I think he's more of a cross between Joel Przybilla, Freeman Williams and Carl Landry.

Is that also why you used to bash the shit out of a 19/20 year old Jermaine O'Neal 3-4 times a week, calling him a lazy, stupid, soft, never-made-jump-shot-and-never-will, complete waste of a draft pick?

What makes you any better a judge of talent now than you were then?

Did you hear the one about the guy who took a Viagra and it got stuck in his throat?

He just decided to go to bed, but woke up with a stiff neck in the morning.

The link you provided reveals him to have a big wingspan, a smooth jumper & very good athleticism... thats a good start. He seems more then willing and able to post up & bang. Hard to tell how big he truly is, how coordinated, and what sort of motor he has.

Well this is a Trailblazers chatsite and quite obviously a lot of diehard fans care about most anything regarding the team. This same fanbase can argue about most anything too... about the only thing we all agree on is Texas sucks

Well, I for one would love to see him come on over to see what he can do. I don't know why, but I doubt he will. I think I read once that he won't come unless he's guaranteed either a starting role or substantial minutes otherwise. No one can make those guarantees.

We have LaMarcus Aldridge and no other bigs (worth mentioning anyway) under contract once July 1st turns over. Maybe Camby comes back, maybe Rhino, maybe Kurt Thomas, maybe Oden? Near as I can figure there are 96 minutes to be divvied up and right now only about 36 to 38 of them are absolutely accounted for.
