You never did explain where that rant about "winning" came from...

Yes. "out in first round" is similar to "very low probability of winning the title"

The "no playoffs" part of the statement actually has no merit and isn't worth discussing.

    "ring" = "winning".

You brought out the Ring Card. I assumed you were trying to imply/say Cuban was right for dumping Nash for a mediocre 7 footer; that Nash isn't really all that; that Nash isn't about winning the big prize; that Nash isn't a piece that is about winning.

If I was wrong, correct it now.

But that's the rub. What else in God's name do we have that can generate enough interest from the Suns to actually trade Nash -- the face of their franchise. Everybody keeps talking about sending expiring contracts or complete garbage to Phoenix as if that's the best offer they'll get (for a player that isn't likely to ask for a trade and a team that doesn't seem all that inclined to trade him otherwise).

I think Nash might ask to be traded to Portland and that's why they will do it. Kind of like when we traded Drexler for Otis Thorpe.

If we can take a bad contract off their hands like Josh Childress, I wonder if that would be enough? Felton/Wallace for Nash/Childress works under the cap.

    He won't be cheap:

The Orlando Magic has made offers for Nash in the past and sources close to the situation say that they’ll attempt to acquire the 16-year veteran in the next two weeks. Dwight Howard has asked the front office to pursue Nash and sources close to Howard believe he won’t exercise his early termination option if the team is able to acquire Nash and re-sign him this summer

He has a great opportunity here feeding Aldridge. And believe it or not most players love it here.

But who in the hell has ever forced a trade here and what special connection does he have with Aldridge to make him do this? (and no, saying that LA and Nash having a picture taken of them together at the all-star game does not qualify as a reason).

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I don't recall ever hearing that. Do you have a link? My recollection was that he had interest in going to the Lakers, to re-unite with Phil Jackson, and Jackson and West had interest in him, but Buss didn't want to add his salary.

Hey, I also have a photo of me and Nash taken at the RG a couple years ago. So, there's that special connection...

    Exactly.
Who out the are we getting for a max contract??
    He's going to Dallas.

WRONG. I was the one who asked the question! Read it again. Don't rephrase it yourself. I never said we'd miss the playoffs the next 9 years. That wasn't part of the question.

Just because Nash was born in South Africa doesn't mean we have to turn this thread into a racist argument.

"This is a great fit for me," Pippen said. "If I had my choice, I would probably choose this team because I feel like they're more on the verge of winning a championship."

He also asked to be traded here:

"Don't read anything into that," Sexton said of Pippen's silence. "After Scottie evaluated the situation in Portland, looked at their roster, what they did last year and the pieces they've added, he was excited. They'll have a legitimate chance to win the NBA championship."
