Almost a guarantee they are gonna trade camby and wallace to start tear down of franchise. even if they try to get some new blood in here to make a run... i think they are sending camby out. doesnt fit well with this team. need a center who can score in post. and frankly most nights he looks old.

    get kaman imo.

Well, they did showcase Elliot Williams and limit Camby's minutes. Hmmm..... ;)

You got that backwards, with the way Portland is playing the best way to showcase a player is not to play them.

This is stupid. We need a center who can block shots and grab rebounds, exactly what Camby brings.

we need a center who can also score.... camby just floats at top key..... cue 2 defenders to LA.

and his defense is not even half what it used to be

Frye is the perfect compliment to Aldridge, IMO. Aldridge used to be like Frye; which was why Oden and Aldridge looked like a good combo. Now you can have Aldridge play Oden's role; while Frye is the spot up shooter.

That works... I know Frye isn't that "OMG exactly what we need" type center; but he can be had and I suspect cheap. And if we could somehow get Nash and Frye; I think our season's outlook would be much better.

With Nash, E Will, Batum, Frye and Aldridge as a starting 5. I think that would look damn sexy!

He's not even complimentary. He doesn't rebound at a high rate, he's finesse, he's not an especially good defender ... he's a poor-man's version of LaMarcus with three point range. That's a terrible front-court mate in my opinion.

I just think Aldridge can actually play center much better than PF, IMO. He's shown last season (being smaller too) that he can rebound with efficiency (10+ a game) and defend too when Pryz and Camby were out with injuries. Frye would be the perimeter spot up shooter; which would bring out the centers that usually double Aldridge down low.

To be fair.... Camby has had some very odd injuries. If Portland wanted to move Camby, better keep him healthy.

That being said.... I still don't get why they pulled him last night, unless he really is close to being dealt, and I just don't see that happening so quickly.

I agree. Frye is a poor rebounder and we'll need more from the PF position.

In this clusterfuck of an offense Nate runs, we need a center that clogs the lane so shooters get open shots. It's a shitty offense, but that's what he runs. You have to have a big that not only commands a double team, but forces the defense to collapse a bit before the ball goes inside.
