I keep seeing people posting timbers or blazers on twitter. If that's really a choice with the heat in town I guess things are rock bottom for blazers!

Timbers are new and have a match today. It will be a true sellout tonight at the RG, even though no one is expecting us to win.

that settles it, the Timbers are more popular than the Blazers (among soccer fans).

avid Timbers and Blazers supporter here. I think its more of an option today because

1, Timbers games are so hard to get into. Already the entire season is sold out at home except for some Obstructed view seats. Tonights game is a pre-season so there are tickets available.

2, price. Blazers I'm sure treated tonight as a Premium price x 4 million game which would run you what, $50 a piece for nosebleeds. Tonight's Timbers game tickets are trunning for $6 or so since they were included in season ticket prices.

Supporters Groups are now the ones being catered to in MLS, not Soccer Mom's anymore. That was the case in the first decade of the league though.

this could be true. I grew up with the Blazers as the sports love of my life. But the Timbers have gotten a hell of a lot more of my money since Comcast thats for sure lol.

Timbers are doing a great job with what they are, a second tier sports franchise. But they will never come close to having the overall support and financial impact as the Trail Blazers.

It was a joke - a play on Bill Simmoms referring to Blazers fans as a bunch of soccer moms.

I'm watching both games right now from home. I have season tickets for the Timbers, but skipped this preseason game. If it was regular season game I'd have gone to the Timbers game.

I'd rather watch the Timbers than this team.

    ....and I can't stand soccer.
