It appears to me that many of our players have given up on playin hard and listening to the coach. It also appears the owner and upper mgmt gave given up on trying to improve the team and haven't even hired a fukkin "real GM". The coach appears lost at sea as well. So I am considering "giving up" my cable subscription, which costs me double the price of Direct TV or Dish, and the only reason I pay for it is to watch the Blazers on Comcast. Why bother though I ask myself, I can't even bear watching a full game anymore. If things change I'll get League Pass next yr, but this team IMO does not deserve my money and support when neither players or owner/mgmt don't appear to care or be trying.
I will admit that it's very hard to be excited about this team right now. I lose interest in many games, just because I see such a lack of effort. The highlight of last night was just admiring what a player that cares does (Pryzbilla). It amazes me that Pryz had no practice, looked a little heavier than I've ever seen him, winded and still was the MVP on the defensive end. I just can't believe that this group of professionals just don't give a shit anymore. Or at least gives a shit to us fans. Even if we were losing, but I saw effort every night; I would be extremely happy. We would be giving it our best and that's all you can ask for. But this team is sooooo underachieving, it's embarrassing. Seriously, it's hard to cheer for a team like that.
Yeah I'm getting there too. I spent nearly five grand upgrading all three of our LCD's to current gen LED models this past X-mas with the hope of enjoying the season with better picture quality, improved contrast, no blur 240Hz, blah blah blah. All I see on these fine screens is a steaming pile of poo from top to bottom. But hey, the kids' iCarly never looked so good!
^LOL You shouldn't always trust your thoughts. If anything Comcast doesn't deserve your money and support, so go ahead and do it.
My rant: EFFORT.... I remembered the days in the mid 90's when our team was just good enough to get into the playoffs; but had many first round exits. Why was it soo much easier to watch? Why did I still make damn sure I didn't miss a game? We weren't even close to contention and hardly had the necessary pieces to even compete; but what I saw was every player giving it their all. Yeah, we couldn't beat the great teams in the league; but we scared the shed out of them many times. That "effort" was easy to cheer for. Just like it was sooo fun to watch Pryzbilla giving 100% effort last night in a losing effort. We have a grip of players that could play sooo much better; yet they are unmotivated to do so. That is why I'm pissed. Our players look as though they don't give two sheets about us fans. It's like they don't give two sheets about themselves. You need pride to want to be the best. I think this team lacks a spine. We need people that will play to win every night.
Dude! She is like 15, totally underage and illegal and you would go to prison for that and you must be sick to even think of it and I would totally do a threesome with her and her girlfriend.
It is sad to see what this team has become. It is obvious we are going to tear it down and rebuild again... I just hope t his doesn't kill the organization so bad that the threat of moving them to another city will be possible. At this point, there is no point to hope for a playoff spot when there is no future. It isn't fun watching a team with no future get blown out. It is, however, fun to watch a team with young talent from upcoming drafts try and grow with the team even if you're still getting blown out. At this point I would rather take lottery then not. Some may call me a fake or whatever, but I'd rather get a nice young prospect then see my team lose in the first round again.
They are unmotivated because the system they are in continually sets them up for failure, there is no designated point-guard and in turn no offense. It's tough to stay motivated when the part of the game that's supposed to motivate you (offense) has no integrity.
Actually I thought the team played fairly hard last night (much harder than they did against Denver) but the reality is that they are kind of talent deficient and completely chemistry deficient with too many mismatched pieces that don't compliment each other.
Agreed on all counts. If you know the team has a bright future, then you can deal with their struggles on the court. But if you know the team has no future (like this one) then it's just painful as heck to watch their struggles.
Hey at least we can hang our hats on this: http://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/page/PERDiem-120302/nba-state-basketball-analytics Hollinger: "The Blazers lost to Miami on Thursday night and dropped to .500 at 18-18, which is remarkable because they've outscored opponents by 4.4 points per game. The Blazers are in ninth place in the West and threatening to miss the playoffs entirely; if so, they will shatter the record for scoring margin by a lottery team." We rule!
