Should the Ducks beat USC twice this year(or in the Pac-12 championship game), and they make it undefeated. Who would be their opponent? Let's say that they do make it all the way undefeated, trumping Barkley twice, would that be enough to make them #2 or #1? Now here are probable candidates for the #1 or #2 spot: Big 10 West Virginia, TCU, Oklahoma. Big 12 Michigan(if they beat Alabama and stay the course, expect them to be #1), Nebraska. ACC Clemson and FSU SEC LSU(people project them at #1 already because of them using the botched Natty as motivation, although they got Bama and Arkansas on their schedule, and they are lacking in QB position). Alabama(They lose a lot of starters but it is probable for them...) Georgia(most likely due to the SEC West beating each other up.) Winner and possible Natty opponent: Georgia or LSU, depending on who beats who in Atlanta. If Big 10 opponent: Michigan. If Big 12: Unknown If ACC: Florida State or Clemson. Now if we DON'T make #1 or #2, we get the Rose Bowl bid. Who to be our opponents? Michigan is clearly a favorite, and Ohio State could be one if they weren't banned. Wisconsin could be a dark horse as they do have Montee Ball Winner: Michigan for this year. OSU next year.
With Urban Meyer at Ohio State... Buckeyes will finally be able to utilize the talent that they pull in. I expect them to win the Big 12. Nebraska won't be great.. Michigan will be solid.Wisconsin will be good with Ball returning, but I just see Ohio State taking back the conference and getting to the Rose Bowl. As for NCG, the five teams I see having a chance at getting to it are: Oregon, USC, Alabama, LSU, and Oklahoma.
If Oregon beats USC twice than I predict we win the whole thing next year! More likely we split 1 and 1 with USC effectively kicking both of us out of the national championship hunt. I see us winning the Pac-12 Championship again and going to a second Rose Bowl against Michigan this year. OSU is not bowl eligible for another year so I think that's the way it'll roll. The ACC is watered down so Clemson or FSU could come out undefeated. The Big 12 is the Sooners to lose and the SEC is still LSU/Bama and everyone else. Oregon could end up playing Bama for all the marbles next year but I wont be shocked to see us picking Roses out of our teeth yet again in Jan. !
Realistically I see Oregon going to the Rose Bowl against Michigan(would be an epic game), as long as we have our cards right. Bama and LSU are going to beat each other up hard, as is the rest of the SEC, but Georgia only has to worry about SCAR and the SEC Title Game. I can see them in the Natty against either us or USC. is there any non-BCS teams that could make the Rose Bowl if USC or us goes to the Natty and there's now Pac-12 winner?
Ohio State IS bowl elligible.. they played Florida last year in some crappy bowl.. they only got a slap on the wrist.
hmm.. was it only for this upcoming year?.. how come they got to play in a bowl game last year? unless they committed more violations I'm aware of.
Also, what about non-BCS schools? Could we have a TCU-repeat in the Rose Bowl? Which non-BCS teams might show up?
