Mediocrity implies they could win a game someday. We're not even at that point right now.

We should start a new pool. How long will it take the Blazers to win more games than the Ducks? (22)

I feel as good about another Blazers win this season as I do about another Ducks win this season. :sigh:

Yeah, same. Hopefully, it'll be just a matter of time. If Nate is insistent on playing the veterans into the ground though, I'd agree with yuyuza1 in that I would rather do other things with my time.

True Dat Stomp. Our passing and assists have been atrocious this year. Don't know what MGMT was thinking tearing out the most important glue of the team in a year when on-court chemistry was of utmost importance.

God all of you shut the hell up (not pointing fingers)!!! Jesus christ, this board bitches and moans after ****ing EVERY LITTLE THING this team does wrong.

Granted, it's obvious the team sucks right now; the coach needs to be fired, we BADLY need a new PG...

But other than that, I like our team overall. There's a few guys that we need to get rid of. Felton...maybe Crawford...Smith and Babbitt are just a waste of space.
Most importantly though, they need to just fire Nate and get a REAL GM. I can't stress that last sentence enough.

So please, just GTFO and go cheer for the L*kers if you can't handle the team not winning every goddamn game they play, year after year after year. WHO EXPECTS THAT?

We just permanently lost (most likely) the best player this franchise has seen in years...I'm perfectly fine with a little suckage the next year...

Trade whatever it takes outside of Aldridge and Batum to get a new goddamn PG and fire the coach, it's clear he's lost at least a few players on this team. It's really that simple.
We aren't as far off as most of you bi-polar maniacs seem to think.

This is incredibly accurate and a rare non-suicidal post that actually contributes something constructive to the board.

Why do you pretend to not know it was Nate McMillan? For 2 years this board talked about how Nate was incapable of changing his system to feature a PG who doesn't shoot the 3. You now want to blame someone above McMillan for accomodating the coach? Which other starting PG fit into a trade for Miller?

Umm Felton can't shoot a 3 either, or for that matter, ANYTHING. Miller is better at literally everything else except maybe D.

I think the point is they should have never traded Andre.

The point of "hopefully whoever pushed that move through is out of the decision making loop" is that Stomp is saying that the moving force behind wanting to dump Andre Miller was someone unknown in higher management, when we all know it was McMillan, who is in the decision loop as much as ever.

Just in case someone comes back with, "I still blame those above McMillan for deciding that Felton was the best PG available to replace Miller," I covered that with my ending question. A lot of people transfer blame for bad coaching to player effort, management, etc.

    Well you are both right.

I think Nate had a large voice in the matter. After all, he's the coach. BUT there's management guys that were obviously on his side.

My point in this thread is, they're all idiots and all of them should be fired. Start over. Yes, that move alone warrants all of them being fired.

Management picks a coach, then accomodates his player needs. Most coaches can mold a system around the players they are given. But McMillan is helpless without a nonscoring high-rebounding C, clutch SG, PF who hovers outside, and PG who shoots 3s. Year after year, management tried to find just the right players to meet his requirements.

Everyone in the league thought that Andre Miller was a fine guard except McMillan. Now you say that some above McMillan agreed with him, so losing Miller is just as much their fault as his. Can you provide any link to who they are? Not one rumor of this has appeared on this board. I've never heard it before.

The point is, some posters carelessly spread blame off of our Teflon coach onto anyone they can think of. He'll be here next year if we cease the drumbeat to get him out, so I refocus their blame back onto him.

At a certain point last night, the majority of Blazers' fans decided to switch their loyalty to the Timberwolves, because at least they could watch that exciting rookie Rubio play...

    And then the inevitable happened.

Wake me up when the Blazers are mediocre. Right now, this team is one of the worst in the league.

I'd prefer to watch their efforts 48 minutes every game over the dishonest play we've been witnessing, but I don't see it happening.

I can't have any respect for any player who tanks, regardless of their reasons. Liars (which they are) are unworthy of respect.

Would you support the US military if it was discovered they were selling nukes to Iran and plotting to overthrow our government?

Would you support the catholic church if your son had been molested by your priest?

Would you pay for concert tickets if you knew the star was lip-syncing?

I'm supporting Nate, Joel, Wes, and the bench. I've seen honest effort from all of them.

I find it hard to believe the rest are not intentionally dogging it.

Ah, grasshopper, but why search for worms high in the apple tree, when the worm is so close in the ground?
