Lma is like chris bosh when he was on the raptors. Thats what we will be looking like if we keep him as our centerpiece. If you can get lma a stud teammate fine but im not too optimistic
oh, we better trade him for guys to put us in the lotto for 5 years then. how do the raptors look now?
Raptors barely got anything for bosh cause they held onto him for too long. They would look better with a utah esque deal
we're far from getting stale with Aldridge. he's a different player/personality than Bosh. completely different situations, same with Deron too. this isn't fantasy hoops. we know what we'll get with Aldridge. Everyone else? Its a gamble that won't net us a franchise player. Who's Utah's franchise player now?
WTF?! Please, the reason why the raptors didn't have success with Bosh wasn't because of Bosh. It was because they didn't build the right team around him. And let's get this straight. Our supporting cast for Aldridge is still way better than the one the raptors had when they had bosh as their centerpiece.
Why, because Aldridge is too good to trade? Because we can't win without him? Because trading him would be sending away our best asset? Guess what other NBA players have also been traded: Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Shaquille O'Neal, Moses Malone, Bob McAdoo, Oscar Robertson, Dave Cowens, Kevin Garnett. And every one of those guys was an NBA MVP. You think Aldridge is better than those guys? You think he's less replacable?? Or are you just showing how ignorant you are about NBA matters in general?
So you have faith in our organization? Get ready to pick 10 to 16 the next few years. The worst place you can be. I think golden state has been there for twentyish yrs
versus what? get non-allstars and draft picks? We've had plenty of those. You need franchise players in the league. We have one in Aldridge. He has a good attitude, puts up numbers, is a rising star and is paid reasonably. I mean, what am I missing here? The blazers are playing like crap because of bad coaching, bad management and poor shooting/turnovers from perimeter players and dinosaur aged big men...hey, let's trade LaMarcus Aldridge for role players and draft picks! :MARIS61:
This franchise was mediocre for 7 straight years in the 90's, yet they managed to get to the WCF twice after it was all said and done. Of course we had a good GM to get it done, but we may find one this summer. I'm no fan of mediocracy, but I'm a worse fan of tanking and rebuilding in the draft. Either way, management fucked both of them up.
Is our team really better than a decent jermainw oneal, jose calderon, shawn marion, anthony parker and andrea bargnani?
Im not saying instantly trade him. You try to get him a stud teammate first, if that fails, u would be dumb not to listen to these types of offers
Yes. Jermaine Oneal was very injured in Toronto (Camby and Thomas combo is better). Marion was good, but was he truly better than the Wallace and Batum combo? Bargnani was too young to even make a big difference. Parker isn't even close to the talent of Crawford.
Chamberlain, Jabbar, O'Neal, and Malone were all traded in their prime. All of them had some of their best seasons after getting traded. And I hope you're not suggesting we should keep Aldridge because he has a good relationship with the fans . . .
what, because the rest of the team sucks, you just continue getting similar players to what's NOT working, keep the same coaching staff, etc...because that will fix things. great thinking there.
Don't remember the other details of the other players, but the only one since the 1980s.....Shaq forced his way out and it decimated the Magic franchise. not only the good relationship with the fans, but there isn't really a reason to trade him. He's not the problem here, everything else around him is not working so the best move is to change the part that is NOT broken hoping it will fix everything else?
