Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects I'm liking him more and more each day. Earlier on in the season before I had the chance to watch him as much, I said Jeremy Lamb could be a better prospect in the NBA, but I take that back completely now. That combination of size and skill makes him such a unique prospect. I think Durant might be a better comparison for him than Camby (like most sites mention) actually.
Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects I wonder if whoever gets him considers playing him as a guard. Probably not, but it would be interesting.
Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects Well, Calipari isn't at UK. There are some coaches in the NBA who I bet would love to try it out, though.
Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects Lots of potential Blazer picks playing the next two nights in the NCAAs. Beal and Sullinger tonight A bunch of guys from UNC, Kentucky, Kansas, and Baylor tomorrow night. If you yet to accept Operation Tank and don't want to throw a brick through your TV, flip to one of the NCAA games when you find yourself getting frustrated when Memphis goes on a big run tonight. This goes double for tomorrow night's annihilation at the hands of the Lakers.
Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects Also lot's of guys that could be picked in the teens, where Portland will be
Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects Who's the Best SG in the Draft? Does Barnes Run away with it? Is Lamb Close behind? Beal Better than Lamb huh? What are your thoughts, looking for a SG.
Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects Best pure shooter in the draft is John Jenkins of Vanderbilt. He's cooler than other side of the pillow.
Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects I'd say Barnes is a SF, not a SG. The top SG's appear to be Beal, J. Lamb, and Rivers. I think Rivers will be the last one drafted, and the best of the three.
Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects Rivers better learn the point, because I don't think he'll be able to cut it guarding NBA 2's.
Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects Best pure shooter in the draft last year was John Diebler. I think Borat is his coach in Europe this year, although Portland still has his rights.
Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects Diebs shot 50% from 3 (227 attempts) and 52% overall at 12.6 ppg. Jimmer shot 39% from 3 (313 attempts) and 45% overall. Jimmer was supposed to be a quasi-PG, though. Diebs is just a 6'6" guy who can shoot and not do much else, which is why he wasn't picked until the second round.
Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects Jenkins is a projected 1st rounder. I think he can be a Anthony Morrow type shooter. NBA is a completely different game for these shooters, they need to be able to create space by putting the ball on the floor, or have a super quick release. Jodie Meeks was one of the most dominant scorers I've seen in college and he's not amounting to shit in the NBA.
Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects Jenkins has more skills than Diebler, no doubt about it. Not as good as a pure shooter, but there is a reason he's projected as a late first-round pick. I just don't see Jenkins as an elite shooter, that's all. I also won't be surprised if he measures in at around 6'2" at the NBA combine, either, and he's not a PG. Morrow could be a good comparison. Some hot games, but primarily an afterthought.
Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects Did anybody catch the Florida/Marquette game last night? If Bradley Beal measures to 6'5" or 6'6", he could be the second coming of Brandon Roy. It was incredible watching how smooth his game is for a true freshman. 21 points/8-10 shooting/6 rebounds/4 assists/2 blocks in a 68-58 win over a very physical Marquette team. He'll be a very good SG if he measures 6'5" or taller. He's listed at 6'4", which makes me nervous for a SG, but he's only 18, and maybe isn't down growing.
