I would rather put off the pick a year rather than get the #8 pick.

I'm more worried about them hovering around the pick they have, Stern will probably allow them to "win" the lottery like the Blazers did when they were supposed to get the sixth or seventh pick in 2007.

These lotto balls are monitored by a representative that works for the lotto teams. It would be really hard for them to fix any lotto results.

Wasn't the Patrick Ewing draft confirmed to be fixed, did they not do that back then?

Nope they didn't do that back then. They just had a envelope with the pick number. These are lotto balls. It was easy to fix back then. That's why Orlando was able to win the #1 pick two years in a row, being the worst possible chance the second year.

I think we would be better off getting NJ's pick around #8 this year than wait until next year:

    1) This years draft class is very strong
    2) NJ could very well be better next year, giving us a worse pick in a weaker draft
    3) We start improving quicker the sooner we get our pick ($1 today is worth more than $1 tomorrow)

I'm concerned that we don't have a long window where Aldridge can be effective; also concerned how it might affect Deron williams decision if they kept their pick this year.

My thoughts exactly. I'd rather have their #8 this year than their #8, or 12, or 14 or even #6 or #4 next year.

The NY Knicks envelope was kept in a freezer until lottery time then put in the machine. They were told to pick the cold envelope.

If we somehow got the #1 pick AND the #4 pick..... that would be crazy.

Then we can all agree that stern has nothing to do with the fix of the draft.

also why was one envelope thrown against the side of the tumbler to bend a corner while the rest were placed neatly in the bottom?

Who needs to fix the draft.... his stars are congregating in major cities without his help.

The lottery seems to be about feel good stories and we can make a damn good one. Seeming Cursed franchise for big men just watched there all NBA guard have to retire due to his knees and the former #1 pick gone due to again injuries gets a shiny ray of light in Anthony Davis to clear away the darkness of the season.
    Great spin on things :)
I might be crazy but if we get the #1 and #4 picks I would entertaine the idea of trading #1 for Wall and then draft Drummond of Cody Zeller.

The sad thing is that Davis looks primed to have knee trouble.
