The reason why Oden put up his condo up for sale weeks before the Blazers made the decision to waive him was simple, and no, it wasn't because Oden decided he wouldn't consider coming back to the team that drafted him #1 overall. Oh, not at all: LINK
bird rights with him mean nothing. Holding on to him gave us no advantage at all. It wasn't a bad move waiving him, unless you think you'd be giving him a max deal.
This... And Oden camp doesn't want to lose face. How would it look around the league if he really didn't want to play for a team that stuck with him for all these years. He didn't care about Portland. He looked so uninterested in games. Usually the first to leave at half time and end of games.
FUCK GREG ODEN!!! If he was a team player, and half way decent human being, loved the town and appreciated the fans, he would have gladly crawled up those two flights of stairs on two bloody stumps. What a traitor. I'm SO done with that guy. BNM
Just to defend his condo building, he lived in the Cyan -- a recently built bulding. I'm pretty sure it's equipped with elevators.
I know through a friend that Oden had two penthouses and blew the wall out between them to make one really large penthouse. He had an elevator right up to his front door. Roy's friends twice broke the elevator when they were drunk and Oden got stuck for the bill both times.
Actually no, he didn't live in that building. He lived on the base of the West Hills, my friend lived below him. And yes it had elevators, guess they were often broken. Interesting comments though...
it's a shame the building he lived in didn't have something that could lift him from floor to floor. Elevating people up to the top floor. Someone should invent something like that.
I call BS on whoever started this shitty thread. Who the fuck care what his deal was? He took a roster spot and was forcing a decision. Doesn't matter if he had to climb 50 flights and then jump on a levitation machine, then transport to another time. He is broken and he is gone, end of story.
Interesting. So Roy ruined his knees falling down the elevator shaft. Until it was fixed, Oden had to crawl up the last 2 floors on his 3 stumps, so he never healed. This explains the mystery of why the doctor kept pronouncing him fit, then a relapse. Roy kept showing up drunk and breaking the elevator.
