I hate to be so pessimistic (it's the Cubs fan in me, I tell ya - wait 'til next year!), but... These groin injuries seem to take forever to recover from, and maybe even lead to related injuries. I know it's anecdotal, but... Gordon signed his big contract with Detroit. He had a groin injury in the playoffs for us. I remember him playing with his leg heavily bandaged and still putting up like 50. Next season for Detroit was injury plagued for him. The groin, then ankle (sound familiar?). Rip has thrived on his athleticism and energy. A groin injury sapped that. The guy's played 67, 46, 55, and now 19 games the past season. While his latest injury was his shoulder, he has been sidelined numerous times with a groin injury.
