He's changing his number from 88 to 55 next year.

really? bummer. 88 looks better, I think. 55 looks like a C or PF #

Good shit. He wore both 55 and 5 this year with Nancy. He wears 5 on his national team, and wore 8 before he came to us.

According to Larry Miller last night on Courtside, that answer is yes.

maybe he will choose 5 once felton is off the team, but doesn't want to say it now. I would prefer that. Oh well. not a huge deal. more jerseys for people to buuy, I guess.

    Cool?

On a side note, I fucking hate it when guys change their uniform number with their current team. I feel bad for the fans that supported them and bought their jersey in the first place

That's stupid of Larry boy to say. If some team lights him up for 10-12 million a year, is Larry boy going to be foolish enough to match that?

What would you expect him to say?

I think Larry would rather eat his words and strokes Batum's pride than say we may not end up retaining Batum if other teams offer him too much money.

He was telling the truth about a simple number change, why is it stupid to say? Paperwork generally has to be filed with the league well in advance of a switch. Nic probably filed that, and Larry confirmed it. Oh no!!

Now they can play "I Can't Drive 55" by Sammy Hagar when he blocks or dunks?

Well I know that (your broadbrush opinion of anyone associated with management or owner). . . but I don't think his response was a stupid thing to say. It was in fact the right thing to say.

Of course it was the right thing to say. Teams are generally more reticent to offer contracts to RFA's that are most likely being matched, so stating that publicly--multiple times--likely makes things better for us.

i thought to switch your number now you had to buy every old jersey in circulation...was that a different sport? and i think the paperwork has to be in by march or something...
