Why would you love the trade if you thought there was no way we'd get the pick this year? If Brooklyn gets a top 3 pick, they'll probably be pretty good next year and we'll end up with a shitty pick when it's all said and done. What's to like about that? Shawne Williams?

If they win the lottery and lose Dwill they become worse. If they win the lottery and keep Dwill then were destined for a mid twenties pick.

Just read on hoopshype that the Nets nearly traded Okur and the pick for Paul Pierce. I'm glad that deal fell through.

very. would like them to win at least one more game of their last 4 to assure they finish no worse than 5-6. if they lose all 4 they could easily end up 4th which has a around a 38% chance at top 3. that's an ugly number for us.

also N.O. seems to be really bad at tanking apparently, and although it's a long shot 3rd worst is in the mix now if NJ loses all 4, which would make the pick a coin flip.

I thought I heard Mike & Mike say during one of the recent games that the pick is only protected pre-lottery? In other words, we only lose the pick (this year) if it's in the top-3 before the ping pong balls do their thing. Did I hear that wrong?

No. That is not correct It is protected top three, top two and top one in the next three years. NJ can vault up and get it if they land in those spots after the ping pong balls

If NJ ends up getting Wallace AND a top 3 pick this year, they robbed us.

Then we will get their pick next year or the year after. It's a guaranteed first at some point. We gave up two firsts for the potential of a lottery pick or at worst 1 first

Still #6 and #11. Probably end up with this combo on draft day. Very cool with this.

It will be interesting to see what the mocks look like when they actually figure in needs and not just slot players.

If Portland ends up 7 and 11 and can't deal one of those picks for someone, then I hope they draft BPA

I have not been impressed with Henson. He's just like the Wright kid from NC a couple years ago.
