And Sacramento won it. No chance at the 5 now.

Bummer, can't win them all. Still we can some nice talent to build around with Aldridge. Excited about that. Plus if we want we can move up and get a player that the Blazers may just fall in love with. We are in a great position IMO.

    We're gettig screwed already! :MARIS61:

It's funny - they always talk about how teams that intentionally tank, always end up with the short straw. NJ obviously tanked that final game, and Sacto put forth the effort to win. So Sacto and NJ end up tied, but in the end, NJ mailed it in, so they "lose" the toss.

losing the toss changes things for the blazers, but it changes almost nothing for NJ. they only lost 1 combination out of 1000, so their odds of keeping the pick are effectively the same.

if sac goes on to win a top 3 and NJ doesn't THEN you can cite karma, but it doesn't really work at this point

We may have to trade up a spot or two from both spots but Beal and Marshall are within reach!

Both will be there at #6, so at least one will be available at #7. However, I'm intrigued by neither, so that doesn't excite me.

When the trade occured some suggested NJ may end up making the playoffs in the east. (With Deron coming back from his injury and the addition of Wallace) Or at least come close. I am happy with #6. If we end up with it.

As good as Deron is, he's nowhere near the talent that Chris Paul has been. The Nets are fucking terrible with supposedly one of the best point guards in the country, yet the Hornets were never very talented and Paul had them playing to the utmost of their potential. I'd still take Deron if he's available, but the guy doesn't seem to make everyone around him better.

Looks like Gerald is going to opt out, the Nets might have traded their top ten pick for 15 or so games of broken down Gerald

There's no way Deron stays on that team. I almost hope we don't get the pick this year. It might be even better next season.

All this means is that, barring a NJ miracle, POR will likely be picking 6th or 7th....
