I don't think there is anyone to blame here. His body fell apart and just wasn't made for pro-sports. I wonder how Durant is adjusting to a city half the size of Portland. Poor Durant, I feel for him.
There's nobody to blame for his career, but I can certainly call him a dick for taking shots at the city after he has left town.
I'm sure some team will sign him so he can sit behind their bench in a suit, but I wouldn't be surprised if the gutless wonder never sets foot in Portland again.
i laughed out loud. Well done sir. repped. well, not yet. but after I post this I will. So, not repped. About to be repped.
Before I opened this thread I thought this was surely an article/quote from Raymond Felton. Anyone else think the same?
Nope. Because, in the end, Felton will still at least Ray Ray "Roundball" Fatty, the only player in the NBA as round as the basketball. And that, clearly, is more than nothing.
This bring up a double-standard: What if a prime Steve Nash played for the Hawks and told somebody "shit, this city is too black for me!" Offensive, yes?
No, shit. Remember the remarks from J.R. Rider about how racist Portland is? And how they were still lynching people 35 miles outside of town (or something like this)? And how did people respond?? With support, love, bibles.... Rider was shocked at how Oregonians responded. It's all love. Oden shouldn't have felt like it was difficult living here - we all loved and embraced him from day one. I guess he has already forgotten about the 10K+ fans that skipped work, school, whatever to show up and see him -HIM- arrive in Portland.
Made up something as fact? Calm down. Maybe I was incorrect in reading that, but it literally has nothing to do with how Greg himself felt when he saw this therapist talking to Blazer officials. I just find that bad form, especially in front of the players. You're making a big deal out of nothing, when it was really Greg's perception is what I was talking about.
So, to protect their mentally fragile center, they put him in a situation where he got even more distrustful?
