    I agree with a lot of this, and I'll add that alcohol isn't a good thing to add to an introvert who may be prone to depression.

    LOL. Frustrated at what? The conversation was long over. Your point was wrong, and you disappeared (not a knock - presumably to work). And the conversation had long shifted. MM and I were shooting shit back and forth, clowning around.

    MZ joined the conversation way late, I laughed at something MZ said, and you continued your history of paranoia. People say way worse direct shit to you, and you don't freak out about it. Mine was a simple joke played off of MZ's comment.

    Zags, what did you add to this thread other than a shot at me over a post that I had already repeatedly explained?

    Do you really need to be prone to depression to become depressed from a situation of that magnitude? He was a young kid and a lot of people around him are partying and drinking. Its pretty easy to understand how he could get caught up in it very quickly.

    Chris Mullin's alcoholism almost cost him his career. He was able to overcome it and now hes a HOFer. I hope Oden can recover from his alcoholism and possible depression, doubt he can ever get his career back though.

    An exposé on why your antics are inconsistent and abrasive. Hopefully leading to a self-character evaluation. In turn becoming a better man from it.

    I'm trying to get this thing back on track, guys.

    So, this thread was derailed worse than Greg's career.

    If this thread can get back on track, so can Greg's career.

    <crickets>

    RUN BJM is trying to help out.

    I don't know if Greg was prone to depression, but based upon what the author of the story/interview has said about him, he is, at the very least, an insular and guarded person. Admitting to being an alcoholic while you're supposedly rehabbing is bad all around, and you have to blame Greg primarily for it, but it sure sounds like the uncle who came out here to live with him was at best an enabler, and at worst, the ringleader. I can just imagine how mentally screwed up the guy is, and if he wanted to be paranoid about things, I can't blame him. It sounds like the Blazers did very little after the spring of 2010 to help the guy or even approach him, and this past year, the "outreach" seemed to be to force Greg to attend games, even though he was never going to play.

    I'm trying, man. Run BJM and I are discussing Oden's mindset. Ignore RR7's spams and MickZagger doing humanity a favor.

    It's easy to see, looking back, at just how dark a place Oden must have been after his patella exploded.

    Shit, the dude had missed his entire rookie year and the "bust" tag was starting to linger. And he was just coming into his own when he went down that dark December night... That's gotta be tough. He never struck me as mentally strong, anyway, but that had to have pushed him over the edge.

    The Blazers babied him during his short stay in the NBA.

    Does anyone remember that Oden was given the private bedroom on the team plane? That's never happened before.

    Forgot about that one. Think of how the other players viewed it. I also remember a story about how Roy, LMA, and Oden were in LA for a commercial, and that's when Roy and LMA bonded. They laughed afterward about how Oden basically spent 12 hours in a bedroom of the trailer sleeping.

    Forgot about that. In the article today, he made it sound like the vets weren't there for him to show him the ropes. He always seemed so disinterested. Maybe he needed someone to tell him to get his ass in check.
