Hey, moderator, quit trying to derail this thread!

We got it back on track. Kind of.

After getting it back on track, everyone left.

Aside from everything he said here, his body was too fragile to be a professional athlete. So it wouldn't matter if he "did everything right".

I've wondered if one of the reasons KP was fired was for drafting Oden over Durant. Allen mentioned about the GM needing to have a "golden gut". This blunder really set our franchise back.

Isn't it interesting how things are perceived? Whenever I am in Indy, we are in a fancy hotel downtown and I never see any black people............ and I live in NE Portland and half the people I see are black. Didn't realize how white P-Town was until after HS and lived in SE Portland for 8 years. Only time I have lived outside my neighborhood.

My favorite thing in the Greg interview was what he said about the sexting thing:

    Chivalry is not dead!

When a black person is near you, 100% of what they can see is white.

I'm curious (but lazy) what % of Flint, MI is black?

Seems about right. Somehow I doubt Greg would feel more at home. However, he might not have to worry about being rich for long.

I do think these uber-hyped basketball prospects who are sought after, handled, and manipulated from middle school until they reach the NBA (and beyond) are often a little bit off. They do well making it appear as though they're pretty normal but how could they really be? When you're a target for hangers-on and people put pressure on you to be a great basketball player and earn a bunch of money at such a young age how could it not have an effect on you? Have any teammates besides Fisher ever liked playing with Kobe or even hung out with him outside of practice? There were some pretty ridiculous articles about LeBron and life amongst his entourage of yes men during/after that 2010 offseason. Dwight Howard seems to have been outed as being just as egotistical as any of them.

Like I said, I don't think he had mental issues coming into the league, but he could be another one of these guys who interprets the world totally different even from fellow NBA players. It may have contributed to how badly he's coped with his misfortune. I think most agree that hes mentally broken at this point though.

Rasta with the POD (post of the day). Was long thinking but never posted it. I was like, "You said it to protect what you got with the ladies, ho!"

That's really lame, MM. Loving your black neighbors doesn't absolve you of your racism. That's always an excuse people use. I'm not racist because I love certain black people. MLK JR dreamed of a day race wouldn't matter and here it is 2012 and you're as racist as ever.

    Exactly.

How completely racist. You're discriminating against black people by making a blanket statement that you don't identify with them because of your color. And you're making that statement to your child. If I was raising a white or black child, I personally would be glad to see them in an environment where people were different than him. Good training early on to not judge people by their color.

On that note, I'm becoming a certified foster parent with the intention of adopting and we have actually requested a black child because almost everyone wants white children and they are in short supply. The majority also wants girls so we have asked for a boy.

Yes, MM, you have the right to make any choice you want, but I personally think it's a bad lesson to teach your child that he is better off in situations where he is the majority. That's what I think.

One more thing, why is it only race that determines minority or majority? If more than 50% of the school are boys than that puts your boy in the majority. If your son enjoys the same things as his fellow students, he will be in the majority on that issue. I mean, a white boy in a white school could love classical music and pottery and be in the minority on that and "not identify with anyone else.". You are making race the deciding factor of minority or majority. If your son, is straight, he's in the majority. If he's gay, he'll be in the minority no matter where he goes. Think about what I'm saying,

I ain't a doctor...but there is no fuckin way your body can properly heal if you are a self-admitted alcoholic and drunk all the time. He has no one to blame but himself. And he should blame himself. The medical staff thing is blown out of proportion. The kid just had no one around to help guide his life.

It makes you wonder if his second MF was a drunken, self-inflicted injury -- as in, a drunken fall?

Can we please get back to the important topic, which is PapaG trying to pick fights and then playing the victim card, while everybody else points and giggles at him?
