Money... the first time he dunked was hilarious. So those guys had no idea? I wonder if they told them afterwards.
Really? It was very cool, but very staged. All those people just so happened to be drinking Pepsi Max and there just so happened to be at least 3 or 4 cameras there shooting. I don't think people anywhere are that stupid.
It was definitely staged, but they could have staged it without telling people what it was or who the old guy is. The people on that court could have merely thought it was a promotional event for Pepsi.
you mean at every late night street court game there aren't a bunch of miked up hottie models oohing and ahhhing? the viewer has to employ a little suspension of disbelief to enjoy this facade... which I did. But of course it doesn't really stand up to an authenticity smell test STOMP
"Pepsi MAX went to a pick-up game in Bloomfield, NJ pretending to shoot a documentary on a basketball player named "Kevin." When his Uncle Drew came into the game, some magical things happened. www.PepsiMAX.com/facebook" Whether it's fake or not, I don't care. Watching this intoxicated is awesome.
Typical street basketball. Racially integrated, no one with facial hair or long hair except Uncle Drew, no fat guys, most of the white guys either have crewcuts or are balding deskworkers--the setting should be the YMCA. Until the surprise ending, I was going to say that white-hairs can't hang on the rim because they can't even raise both arms. It's something different so I like it.
First thought: didn't they do the "NBA Star in old man makeup pretending to be older relative" with LeBron already? Second thought: is this a cruel comment on Irving's inability to stay healthy? I can't believe he said "don't reach" without following up with "or I will teach". And where was "mouse in the house"?
I was thinking it must've been tough to play a whole pickup game in all that latex old-man makeup--but then I remembered that Greg Oden did it for his entire NBA career.
I was just replying to NB3 who sounded as if he thought it was real. I enjoyed it. I love this kinda' stuff...... I did a short doc on street ball as my final project in college.
