Latest mock updated this morning from Hoopsworld............ http://www.hoopsworld.com/2012-nba-mock-draft-consensus-ver-3-0
If we go the rout of signing a PG free-agent (Lin or Dragic) I'd really look to package both picks to move up for Beal. Quality over quantity!
It's just interesting to me how Beal was in the top 4, 3 weeks ago and now is 6th a lot of places and how Barnes has moved up to 5th almost everywhere. Can't wait for official weigh ins and workouts to start!
Depends on if you believe the pundits. If there is actually a chance that Beal is available at #6, I would rather sit tight and add a second quality player.
I really really don't want us to go after Bael. A lot of what i'm worried about him will be answered by the Combine so i'll wait tell then to totally check him off my list but he seems like a Gorden/Monte type player. Great bucket getter but offers little to nothing else.
Except that one of the strongest parts of his game is defense. Which neither of those guys play much of.
Use both picks to improve this weak roster....and use free agency to add some (2-3) young vets to fill in some holes..... The best way for POR to improve thier team in a significant way is going to be through the draft...trading the picks for aging\mid tier veterans is a highway to fucking nowhere....
Remember, according to our "brain trust" they are looking to add players who are age appropriate with Aldridge. LA is 26, so draft picks don't really fit the bill. My guess is they use the picks, and trade them during or after the draft for guys like Iggy, Collison, etc
That came out yesterday morning, rookie. Here are today's. http://fanspeak.com/nbadraft/2012/05/22/2012-nba-mock-draft-round-1-522/ http://nbadraftroom2.blogspot.com/p/2012-nba-mock-draft.html
Yeah, well they are idiots.... I give you Nolan Smith and Ray "fat man" Felton as evidence 1a and 1b....
So you think Andre Miller was our path to the title, and it was stupid to get younger at the position?
