http://basketball.realgm.com/wireta..._Use_Picks_To_Trade_For_Veteran_Small_Forward The Warriors would like to upgrade their starting small-forward spot. Golden State reportedly would like to trade a combination of its four first-round picks for Andre Iguodala, Nicolas Batum, Luol Deng, Rudy Gay, Danny Granger or Josh Smith. "Having four picks is a tremendous situation to be in, and I think we can do some good things with it," general manager Bob Myers said. "We're excited. We have a tremendous amount of assets, which puts us in good shape to explore a variety of opportunities. It's up to us to make something of it." Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, a 6-foot-7 small forward out of Kentucky, also is coveted by the Warriors.
Chad Ford Chat Chad, should the Pacers try and package Darren Collison and the 26th pick to move up and a get shooter? Jeremy Lamb would make a lot of sense for them. Chad Ford (1:31 PM) I think that's a serious option for them. Several teams in the lottery -- most notably the Hornets (10) and Blazers (11) -- are in the market for a point guard. The Hornets loved Collison when they had him last time. Not sure where the Pacers would go at 11, but Lamb, Rivers, Damian Lillard, Jared Sullinger, Dion Waiters would all be possibilities for them
Unless Portland is high on Collison, and they don't think they could sign any of the FA PG's out there, this wouldn't make sense. We're trying to acquire assets/tools. Keeping 6 and 11 and signing a FA = better assets/tools than 6, DC, and #26.
Early buzz out of the first day of Chicago pre-draft camp is that Cleveland loves Barnes and Washington is hot for Beal. NO- AD CHA- Robinson/Drummond/MKG WAS- Beal CLE- Barnes SAC- Robinson/Drummond/MKG Por- MKG? Whichever is left from the two bigs? Lillard? Amick is being told that all the mocks are way off in the top 10 and he agrees. Oddly, seems like Beal and Barnes are sticking up there. So it seems like some of MKG, Robinson, or Drummond are being overvalued in mocks. Also Waiters declined to do the drills, might give more credence to his stock being higher than we think (Toronto liking him at 8).
I can't fathom Barnes going over MKG. This is the type of move when your best player (Irving) plays assistant GM.
Best guess is Drummond (for lack of motor) and Robinson are dropping - NOT MKG. Robinson is a very good rebounder, solid defender and capable low post scorer but he really anything special? He's not big enough to be a 5, not explosive enough to be a star 4 - I'm not seeing it. Looks to me like a guy that will stick around for a lot of years, probably even make a few AS games, but never be a star, so it's no surprise that he may be sliding.
