What are the odds of 6 being a great player? Or 11? Or even a very good player? Probably better odds of one of them than both. And the odds of 1 of the picks ever being as good as Rondo is probably slim. You know Rondo is a very good player.
Rondo is the best roller skating NBA player in the NBA. He would love Oaks Park. http://www.maxim.com/gadgets/rondos-roller-skating-obsession
Here ya go, NBA power rankings for point guards for 2012 http://www.cbssports.com/nba/playerrankings/regularseason/PG?&start_row=1 It might supprise a few of you. Four spots above Felton...woot, lets break the bank for him.... Guy is ok, but he is the flavor of the month in here, we can do better
Flavor of the month? Gimme a break. Also, GTFO with that "ranking" Any list that has Derrick Rose at 30, no. Has Felton ahead of Dragic and Lowry also, why bother upgrading?! TERRIBLE. Why not find a sweet bleacher report article to use as evidence also.
Yes, but we have to TRADE for him. And unless a player is being dumped on the cheap by a team that is poorly run or dumping overpaid / aging players to enter a rebuild phase, trading for "very good" players is rarely a good strategy. Trade for a SuperStar. Or, Trade for a player on the rise. (Rondo was better 3 years ago) Or, Trade for a final piece.
Yes we would have to trade for him. I'm saying if you traded 6 and 11, odds are Rondo will be better than what you could get with both of those picks.
Lots of players have that resume. Doesn't mean I want any or all of them on the Blazers. And, I sure as hell don't want the Blazers to "buy" Rondo for a premium price. We just don't the assets to afford him and still have enough left over to build a good team.
It would be those picks (assuming Boston would even accept that as the price) PLUS either Wes Matthews or a sign and trade of Batum for salary match or absorb Rondo's salary and lose most of the cap space, losing the ability to sign any free agents (Rondo, Batum and Hickson cap holds would eat up all but $1 to $3mil in the cap space). Rondo / ??? ??? / Wes Batum / ??? LaMarcus / Hickson ??? / Pryz/Thomas Assumes can resign Batum and Hickson for reasonable deals. That is not a good team.
yep, absorb his salary. I'll take a young trio of Aldridge/Rondo/Batum over Aldridge/Batum/and..Lillard and Leonard let's say. Or Barnes and Leonard. Or some other combo.
true that is one take on it oh and for all the gtfo nay sayers who still think rondo walks on water how about hollinger? http://insider.espn.go.com/nba/holl...n.go.com/nba/hollinger/statistics?position=pg
Am also pretty sure we'd have more than 1-3 million, if the current estimate is maybe 16, and that includes the cap holds of our 2 lotto picks. So take away that 4 million roughly, and add in Rondo's 11, we're closer to 9.
I'd much rather trade up. That should be plan-A. Robinson/Aldridge/Batum/Dragic* > Rondo/Batum/Aldridge
Excellent. Of course, those lists have the Birdman as a better center than Noah. Nene. Marc Gasol. Sundiata Gaines is a better SG than Ray Allen. Mike Dunleavy is better than Luol Deng.
21pts/11asts/7rebs averages against one of the best defenses in the NBA If Rondo isn't the answer then I have no idea what you're looking for.
