Not meant to really be a crack, just that you couldn't understand how anyone liked him previously, and why anyone would want him, and have now shifted to liking him a lot, and being bummed he wouldn't be there with our 6th pick.

    Mike Rice ‏@mikerice6
How about beal with 4 in more vertical than kidd gilchrist. Beal was great h.s player & had to adjust his game at fla. 2 sr guards

I didn't realize I was down on him before? Nor bummed that he wouldn't be there at 6? I always tried to say I was waiting for the measurements and combine on most players. Oh well

His game is not built around agility and athleticism per se....He is a below the basket big man, in the paint, showed some capability to hit some outside shots this year, but his bread & butter is going to be in the paint, using his size and bulk and craftiness to score....a banger...

I do not have a problem with him skill wise, my concern about him is injury concerns\potential (back\one leg shorter than another) and weight issues.

I've defended him much of the way, but its disappointing to see the awful combine results. On the one hand, he'll be able to overpower PFs from day one, on the other, he posted pretty historically terrible agility and sprint numbers. He probably won't go to a fast break team, but how is he going to hedge on screens? Rotate in the paint? Guard face up PFs? Many compare him to Love, but Love actually put up pretty good athletic numbers for a PF.

I still like him but a lot of other guys really distinguished themselves while he was disappointing, even despite dropping the weight.

    Some notable measurements:

    - MKG didn't measure out as all that athletic, and I'm not that surprised. He never struck me as explosive as he was advertised to be, but I think he's still got great tools and a smoothness about him. He'll be fine.

    - This entire class is nuts. Tons of 6'11+ guys. 8 players with a max vert over 40", 28 players with a max vert over 37".

    - Barnes and Beal did very well, hard to see them slipping at all. Lillard also did well though.

    - Austin Rivers' 32.5 standing vert and 37" max vert are surprising, as are Kendall Marshall's 31/37.

    - BTW John Henson had an ankle injury which is why he didn't participate and speed agility. I reckon it affected his vertical numbers as well.

Meyers is becoming the "third most coveted bigman" in this draft?

    -Davis
    -Robinson
    -Leonard

Over Drummond? I don't know if I buy that one...

I thought it was true center, so they weren't counting Davis.

I'm increasingly intrigued by Jeff Taylor. Could he be a cheaper Harrison Barnes? He registered the same vertical reach as Robinson, Festus Ezeli and Terrence Jones. He's also supposed to be a great defender. He's supposed to be going to the Thunder just because most mock drafters think he's a steal.

I honestly don't understand this. Barnes is about as one dimensional as you can get. What am I missing here?

That he's not as one dimensional as people thought?
