Props to Cho for thinking outside the box.

Anyone else hear on Courtside that they pulled this because Brian Shaw was dragging his feet because he was more interested in the Portland job? Or did my ears deceive me.

I actually read that online as well, he is interested more in Orlando and Portland job, so wouldn't commit there.

Arguably cheaper than anyone else they talked to, which seems exactly like a Jordan type of hire.

Not at all saying it is a bad hire. Just that the price I am sure interested Jordan a ton.

Both seem like great choices regardless of the roster we have here. I agree with Olshey about evaluating roster and choosing the coach. Just think either Malone or shaw would be a good hire. Not super interested in Sloan. Only old coach I would want is Phil, and I have no thoughts he'd actually come here.

Haha no, I think they were talking to Sam Amick or someone like that.

Well Charlotte has no place to go but up, so hard for new coach to screw up too much. As long as he doesn't post the worst record in NBA history the team is improving . . . that should be an easy target to reach.

I'll give props to Cho once they start winning. Cho doesn't have the golden touch so I'm not assuming this coach is automatically going to work out. To me this looks more like an economics decision by Charlotte (not hiring the top three on their list), but I don't know anything about him or much about Charlotte so who knows.

He probably will add to the draft evaluation process.

I get that he's a great X's and O's guy, but he was an assistant at a smallish college. What he will have to prove is that he can manage and coach NBA players. During practices and games.

I can't remember the last time a college assistant was hired as an NBA head coach, kind of odd.

Rumors: Brian Shaw passed on Bobcats? http://hoopshype.com/rumors.htm

Maybe Olshey and company have been more active than we give them credit for?

Should we expect a hire about this time next year?
