It's possible, but I wouldn't think so. I imagine they go with a slower rebuild, build around Gordon, Davis and #10 pick, and go from there. I think trading away two slightly overpaid role players to go make a big signing of another role player about to be overpaid would be awfully stupid.
Probably means Blatch gets amnestied. Probably would get a hard look from Portland for the right price
well, they HAVE to spend 90% of the cap this year (around 54M, iirc). So they can pay Gordon his 15M or so, Davis his 5M or so, #10 2M or so, Jarrett Jack 5M, their role players 9M, and have ~18M left over burning a hole in their pockets that they HAVE to spend.
okafor and ariza are niceish players, certainly better than anything the wizards had, so for once we see a trade based on actually getting better
They should make a big offer to Brook Lopez, who would pair up really well with Davis, IMO. Draft Lillard at 10 if he is there. Lillard/Gordon/Aminu/Davis/Lopez. But Batum would fit in pretty well also.
PG: Lillard SG: Gordon SF: Batum PF: Davis C: TBD They are in good position to offer Batum the contract he wants. And I know Monty will push for his protege.
Washington won their last six games and have now gained two good players in this deal. Things are looking up for the Wiz.
... ... ... yeah ... I think I might given what is likely to be available at that spot. I think Seraphin certainly has more capability of becoming a good pro than most of the guys they might draft at that spot.
Maybe trade back one with the warriors for #7 and #30? You would probably still get Lillard at #7, unless GS picked him, in which case you would get Drummond or whichever of Barnes or MKG wasn't picked. Also adding an asset #30
How? If there's 96 minutes of PF/C, and Nene's getting 35, and Vesely's getting 20+, and Okafor's gonna get 25-30, that leaves 23-28 for the combination of Seraphin and Blatche. Not to mention if they have to go small...
Well, you give 0 to Blatche. He should be amnestied immediately if they can not trade him for a peanut. I keep thinking of Vesely as a SF, so forgot about his minutes at PF. I imagine a straight Seraphin getting all the backup C minutes(20 or so) and Vessely all the backup PF, and really, one of Nene and Okafor will get hurt some.
