Trail Blazers @pdxtrailblazers Marshall - "I'd love to be here [in Portland], but ultimately, they're going to do what's best for their team." #tarheels #ripcitydraft
It's as if these guys are trying to stay away from Portland on purpose. Marshall said Felton owned him. Rivers talking about injured ankles. RED FLAGS
Joe Freeman @BlazerFreeman Austin Rivers says his left ankle was "killing me" when he woke up Wednesday. But he went through entire predraft workout w #Blazers
I still like Ross and Marshall the best out of this group. I like Rivers' demeanor, but his production and talent don't quite live up to the hype, and Wroten is intriguing but good-god his shot is fugly.
FWIW, Harkless looked decent out there. His three point shots were better than Rivers, not quite as good as Ross. He is supposed to be known for his motor and rebounding. He might be moving up.
Drummond or Lillard and Ross would be a good draft, IMHO. Re-sign Batum and Hickson, bring Freeland over and sign someone like Hawes or Dragic, depending on who you draft at #6
Question on Ross. I love his shot and athleticism. But, he comes across in interviews as "awe shucks" type. Does he have enough aggressive play on the court? I would fear teaming him with an already too nice Aldridge, Matthews and Batum wouldn't work well.
My question is can he get to the basket? Can he create his own shot? If he can I have no problem picking him at 11. But if he can't then I don't want him. Interesting listening to the interview with the NBAdraft.net guy. (A Syracuse Grad) His personal opinion on Waiters.....second round. Ouch
Matt Calkins @blazerbanter Blazer pre-draft workout topics: Brandon Roy, Doc Rivers, and...Kelly Kapowski. http://www.columbian.com/weblogs/bl...-pre-draft-discussions-include-brandon-roy-d/
This is going to sound homerific, but I think Ross' comp is a taller, 90% capacity Ray Allen who can defend. He doesn't drive a lot, but he has a nice midrange game and can absolutely stroke it from 3.
btw, I call B.S. on Marshall's love of Kelly. He was about 3 when that show was on. And if he's spent his time watching SBTB reruns instead of current shows or video games or basketball, then I don't know what to say.
