Ya but that was just drills. They hardly even went up against each other at the combine.

    I know it's not draft-related....But....

Evan Dunlap: Per @Darnell Mayberry, there's "speculation" that Scott Brooks and Thunder could separate due to "holdup" in contract extension talks now

I honestly don't remember ... but I don't think they actually play games at the combine like they do at Portsmouth, it's mostly one-on-one drills and skills tests.

And they're saying Phil Jax could be the man to take over.

FYI: Harrison Barnes latest workout for the #Bobcats was seen as very impressive by new head coach Mike Dunlap. #NBAdraft

Rick Bonnell: Nothing about Thomas Robinson today dissuaded me from thinking he's the safest use of the 2nd pick. Other considerations, but he's solid. about 5 minutes ago

(in regards to today's workout in CHA)

Praying for this - Barnes at #2 would be huge for Portland. It means someone of more valuable to Portland will be available at #5, if not #6.

    From Sam Amick, today:

As Charlotte continues to ponder its decision at No. 2, numerous executives expect the Bobcats to be approached by Cleveland (No. 4) about the possibility of swapping picks (if it hasn't happened already) in order for the Cavaliers to land Florida shooting guard Bradley Beal. While Cavs point guard Kyrie Irving is known to be a huge proponent of drafting North Carolina small forward Harrison Barnes, it appears Beal has shot up their big board just as he has so many others, and it's widely believed that he won't get past Washington at No. 3 if they don't make a move.

Not really. Beal, MKG and Barnes aren't doing group workouts are they? Of course Davis isn't doing any. They guy showed up at the combine and showed what he had, which nobody above him did. He probably feels he did his thing, so why risk getting hurt by some team putting you in with a bunch of guys you don't know.

From the same Amick article (it's a really good read into the Top-6 picks - I recommend you check it out):

    • With so many expecting some version of the aforementioned five players will be taken in the top five, things could get very interesting at No. 6 for Portland.

While Drummond remains the most mysterious talent in this crop and his upside is -- like him -- huge, the Blazers may not be convinced that he's the guy there. If they passed on him, Weber State point guard Damian Lillard could be the chosen one for new general manager Neil Olshey. Lillard got rave reviews in his workout there June 15 and reportedly attended dinner with owner Paul Allen and the team's front office members after.

Lillard is known to like the fit in Portland and wants to be there, but it would be risky to wait until their second pick (No. 11) to get him. The risk could pay off, though, as sources from rival teams say the top candidates to take him (Toronto at No. 8 and New Orleans at No. 10) appear to be fixated more on different prospects than they are on Lillard (specifically, I'm told the Raptors are contemplating between Syracuse guard Dion Waiters, Connecticut guard Jeremy Lamb and Duke guard Austin Rivers, while the Hornets could be locking in on Rivers and Waiters if either of them are still there).

Lillard was expected to work out for the Hornets this week, but his camp continues to resist New Orleans' request that he take part in a group workout. That could play a part as well, as Hornets general manager Dell Demps has plenty of options there who have agreed to a workout. North Carolina center Tyler Zeller is being considered at No. 11 as well.

Amick's article seems to indicate that the #2 could be a crucial pick in how the next several picks play out. Barnes, Beal, or T-Rob could go at #2.

My speculation: If CHA takes Beal, it could throw some things out of whack that would seem out of Portland's favor.

Makes you wonder if other teams are really interested in Lillard, or are bluffing with the reported interest, in an effort to get Portland to draft Lillard at #6, thereby allowing other prospects to slide past....

Ford's list seems right on target. I would probably move Wroten down one step and Harkless maybe up one . . . maybe.

I'm not sure we are in a bad spot. If we really want one of the top guys, we might be able to swing something with Sac. If they like Lillard and Drummond, then they could have one at 6. Right not the draft seems to be going:

    1. Davis
    2. Barnes or Beal
    3. Beal or MKG
    4. Barnes or MKG
    5. Robinson (who didn't work out for Kings, and might not want to play for them)
    6. Lillard or Drummond, who Sac seem to like both of

Yeah, this is why I think more and more that POR has got to trade up and get 1 of those 4 guys (Beal, Barnes, MKG or Robinson)...at #6, they are so close, if any team above them is wavering or might prefer another player or wants to shed some salary...POR has got to be creative and make a deal...

Not that anyone would expect any differently, but I do know that Portland and Sacto have been chatting about a potential swap of 5 and 6. If Sacto is okay with Drummond, then a deal makes a lot of sense for both teams.

I don't know if I agree that there is much difference at all betweens Tier 2 and 3, very very subjective IMO
