there are also ways to get into town without the freeway. Taking Farmington eventually cuts you through Multnomah Village and into Ptd. I knew a couple ways to get into town without taking the freeway. They also have widened the merge from 217 to 26 which has helped traffic. The key for me to miss the traffic is leave at 6:30 and I miss most traffic that way. Also with morning traffic, who wants to get to work? I used to listen to Colin Coward when he was local and before I know it I'm at work. The worst for me is going to Blazer games. That commute from westside suburbs to the rose garden is bad (still not as bad as going to Vancouver) . . .you catch the evening commute and the RG traffic . . . and it is usually raining.
I dont see weirdos (your avatar) in E.Vancouver. I see them daily in Portland. Even the Wal Mart in E.Vancouver is respectable. You dont see the trash that you see in all the other Wal Marts. I am always amazed at all the hot moms I see! I'd be willing to bet that the average income in E.Vancouver is well pretty high.
Everyone I know from Tualatin, Tigard, Beaverton (not Jesuit) thinks kids from Lake O or Jesuit are D-bags. Just sayin.
There's also a newish WES train in Tualatin that goes to Beaverton, and you can take the MAX from there.
Well there are a lot of D-Bags from LO and Jesuit. But there are a lot of D-Bags in Tualatin and Tigard and Beaverton... you get the idea. The D-Bell curve is universal.
So Warriorfan to summerize: You have endorsements for (among others) Tualatin Beaverton Lake Oswego Bethany Some will say negative things about them, but you do have posters who have lived there, say they like it, and will give you the real pros and cons if you are intersted in any of those area. I think you came to the right place for some good and honest suggestions. Hopefully you got/will get something out of all this. If you are going to live here and are an NBA fan, I hope you get sucked into Blazermania and we see you on this board next year. Go Blazers!
Everyone I know from Jesuit is from Tualatin, Tigard or Beaverton. No wonder the people you know from those areas don't like Jesuit, they steal their best athletes hen kick their butt in sports. I would hate that too. Just sayin
One thing to keep in mind: Portland has the second lowest apartment vacancy rate in the entire country (NYC is #1)
This is the important take away. Maybe he meant this warrior?
I'd say any of the burbs except the Beaverton, Aloha, Hillsboro area which is becoming gang central. Closer in Gladstone and Milwaukie are both very family-oriented communities.
