I like Hawes. Only deterrent with him is his durability, especially when compared to Hibbert.

But there were times early on last season when Hawes looked dominant. He's a decent back up plan.

Hawes had been very Meh until his (short) stretch with Philly last season where he looked VERY good.

He is young. Did he finally figure the game out and develop?

Was it just the perfect situation for him and wouldn't be duplicated elsewhere?

    Contract year hustle?

    I have no idea.

Honestly If we dont get hibbert id like to see us pass on batum and his ludicrous contract, then maximize our cap space by taking on one year contracts through trade along with assets from other teams (so they wont pay lux tax) then try again next yr. We need that second all star

Simply, No. We need an impact player - preferably at the SG or C positions. After we get that, then we can worry
    about filling out the roster.

Meh on Hawes, I like Olshey's approach here. I like his plan, swing for the fences, if you connect you can be competetive right away. If not you gave it a well thought out shot and now it's back to a slower rebuild. Perhaps capspace this trade deadline or next summer helps us lanf a good player. Well thought out and played IMO

We need to wait 2 years. Olshey said that is when a bunch of nice players contracts are up.

Bucher said on the Doug Gotlieb show that it makes more sense for Indy to let Hibbert walk and sign Kaman, who in Buchers eyes is a better center when healthy. He will also cost a lot less according to Bucher

The caveat is, Kaman's never healthy.

I don't agree with Bucher. Hibbert already is a better C and a much better defensive presence.

Yeah. Was that Wells quote from earlier?

I quoted him earlier today, as he was on the radio this AM (MSP w/CIP) and said the same thing.

For Indy, I agree. Let Hibbert walk and sign Kaman.

(But I only agree because I want Hibbert in Portland.)

LaMarcus and Kaman is a Meh match on the frontcourt.

LaMarcus and Hibbert is a good match. The compliment each other better.

Maybe (a healthy) Kaman would actually be a decent fit for Indy. And if they think they don't lose much in the trade of Centers, they might actually want a cheaper Kaman than a pricey Hibbert.

Well let's hope indie disagrees with her and they allow Portland to pick Hibbert.

Maybe the Pacers can go after Spencer Hawes, he's a white republican!

What about plan B being Brook Lopez? The Nets will have 48 mil tied up in 3 players, Williams/Johnson/Wallace.

Well... Kaman met with the Pacers today. Nothing on twitter or in the news after the meeting, so I'll assume it's not in our favor. More of an introductory, "Do we REALLY want to go THIS route? Nah."

    A whole lotta nothing?

Kaman knew it was over when KP walked over to a CD player and turned on Ace of Base (The Sign).
