I do I expect what to change? The Blazers? I have long been a proponent of building through the draft. As a small market team I don't think there is a better way to land a top player at his position for your team

I dunno? I saw on the twitters that the pick is really friendly to the Rockets, and then it was a guaranteed lottery pick. Not sure how that works though?

Well Morey did have a big ticket guy in Yao and the scoring champ in McGrady. Sounds like they threw everything they could at Orlando to get Dwight. Problem is there are less then 15 big ticket studs in this league and there are 30 teams. No matter what strategy you use to build a roster most of the teams in the NBA will be disappointments.

well, except you have to be bad enough to get a top 3 player in the draft. then rely on the luck of ping pong balls.

best way to land a top player is to have a huge expiring contract or be able to absorb highly paid stars or do a big package trade.

RT @Medinatime: Exactly what is Morey trying to do in Houston? ---> Moving off guys that don;t want to be there.

So Portland had RLEC. They should have been able to get a young superstar for that?

They overvalued the imaginary cap space which turned out to be worthless. They were so intent on saving all that cap space they became hesitant to make any moves in order to "make a splash" down the line. superstar doesn't have to be young. just has to be a star.

Nash is a star. Would he be someone that would make our team a contender for years to come?

The Rockets and Raptors are working on something "innovative," source says, with lottery protection on 1st round pick returning to Houston.

I just don't get why Morey did not commit to one of his PG's? now both are gone and he "might" get LIN who IMO is not as good as the two guys who just left HOU. And how many PF's does he have on that roster? lol

Jamal Crawford gets 4 years/$24M from Clippers reportedly. Somewhere new Blazers GM Neil Olshey (former Clips GM) must be laughing.

RT @TheRocketGuy: @w_maxey Brooks didn't want any part of Houston when they traded him . . .but time (and $$$) heals all wounds.
