Eric Koreen: As for qualifying offers to Bayless and Weems: no word yet. My guess is they are in danger. JUST AN EDUCATED GUESS
Uh, they lost their SuperStar Franchise player to injury/early retirement...... just like the Blazers. Takes a while to recover from that.
Bayless as a shooting guard would be intriguing ... gotta wonder though if he still insists on calling himself a point guard?
I actually liked his game quite a bit, but I never liked his attitude. The guy seemed like a cancer in the locker room.
I guess that's kind of my point. It's how Bayless perceives himself and how that jives with how his teammates and teams see him that strikes me as the problem ... coincidentally the same problem I think is going to afflict Austin Rivers. If Bayless could accept the reality that he'd be a really good sixth-man combo guard who do his El Toro impersonation with some occasional kickouts to guys who are 7th-10th on the depth chart he could be really good, but as a starting 1 or a starting 2 there's just something that doesn't seem to click with he and his teammates.
