I'm pretty sure the entire premise MM was arguing was that white, American centers suck/are below average/perform worse than their draft position. Sabas was previously mentioned. That's why Pau Gasol has as much bearing in the conversation as slypokerdog does.
"They've got no idea what it's all about. The white guys, they work hard, but they don't have the talent. And the rest of them? Who knows what to expect? They're not good for much of anything."
This makes me so happy! Getting Hibbert is like getting a healthy Oden back but more polished and playoff tested.
Yea... Oden was on a hole different level then hibbert. Hibbert is awesome but an injury free Oden would have been a freak. I do want hibbert in a blazers uni as much as I wanted Oden healthy and back in one. Sent from my PC36100 using Tapatalk 2
I've seen you say this as if you're 100% certain they will match. There have been several writers, even ones from Indiana, saying they don't think the Pacers will match. Why are you so sure?
@MikewellsNBA If no match for Hibbert, Kaman and Mayo they go after. I have to look at salaries to c how it would work I can actually see this happening, they have been hot after Mayo for a while.
All of a sudden I am much less optimistic that this guy Wells knows what he's talking about when he says Indy won't match. Seems like he would have looked at the salaries already, before opining about what Indy was going to do. barfo
We're only able to offer max because we amnestied Roy, right. One Roy for another! And the center we've been waiting for!
I like your enthusiasm and share some of it. But Hibbert is nothing like a healthy Oden. Go back and watch highlights of him at Ohio State manhandling Horford and Noah. Those guys were juniors, and now all-stars in the NBA and he was a freshmen. Oden ran the agility drills faster then Aaron Brooks. Hibbert is more skilled, he has some touch further from the basket but athletically Oden was a species from a different planet.
Yeah.... I'm sure that's how it went down. Paul: So Neil, what's your plan for free agency? Neil: Well Paul, I was thinking my first move would be to spite my predecessor* and make a max offer to his All-Star center. Paul: Sounds good. Put some extra stank on that offer. Neil: Will do. *Chad Buchanan was an interim GM*
