The poster I was responding to had only about 5 posts total (I think he's up to 8 now). I pulled it up because I thought "who is this guy" so I looked up his posting history, and found the rather amusing DEAD CENTER thread as his other contribution to the board. If that makes me 'in emotional control' then I plead guilty to that. Besides, I'm only 2 years old... what do you expect from me? barfo
Umm...you talkin' to me? OK Rush, whatever you hallucinate. Just keep putting words in my mouth I've never spoken if it takes the edge off the drugs.
First, this new baby poster BlazersWin threw a temper tantrum, then PapaG continued derailing the thread. HCP, where are you when we need you? You nail the smart rookies, but miss an asshole like this one.
Back on topic... The job of president is to make the team profitable - it is an extremely important job. I have no doubt that Miller did a good job of it. But, I'm glad he's gone. Why? Because he could and sometimes did give entire press conferences and not say anything - which I found most annoying.
So, just to be clear.... Is this thread about Oregon politics or Larry Miller resigning? Just want to know before I respond. Umkthanx!
Good question! Maybe the Blazers should just hire whoever loses the presidential election. Look you may not be good enough to run the country, but you can run the Blazers!
Ok, I'll bite: what's so great about Larry Miller? He might be great, I really don't know at all - judging him only by his public comments is clearly not a fair way to evaluate his overall job performance - but that's all the data I have. Fill me in. barfo
I've met a few times. Extremely nice, friendly and knowledgeable. Not sure if that makes him a good team president but he's a cool dude.
Well let's see 1. Graduated from Yale with a double major (Poli-sci and Economics) 2. Served as Executive Treasurer of the NBA Players Association and a member of the Players Association Negotiating Committee 3. Created his own charitable foundation 4. Vice President of M Financial Wealth Management 5. Raised millions for his campaign Sounds like a decent candidate to me? As for Governor, he didn't have the right qualifications for Oregon. 1. He was republican 2. He hadn't failed miserably before 3. He didn't admit that he couldn't do the job the first time
