Who knows. Doctors told him that if he kept playing he wouldn't be able to walk when he's older. I'm guessing you'll have a few good games out of him, and a lot of games where he's really limited. You could really see it here and it was sometimes painful to watch.

My gut says not a lot, but if the injections worked well, then who knows?

I thought I read that he had some sort of procedure done overseas that supposidly is going to help. Not sure where I read it, but I wonder if he's had something done that isn't fda approved here. Idk, if it would even help him as bad as his knees sound, but I guess it's his health, he can do what he wants with it. My guess is he'll do alright in spots for us, and likely be a very young recipiant of knee transplants. Fortunately for him, he'll have the money to pay for some pretty nice bionic knees.

The procedure is supposed to help more with the pain than anything. He's not magically regrowing cartiledge or a meniscus.

    in a young girl's heart?

How the music can free her, whenever it starts

And it's magic, if the music is groovy

It makes you feel happy like an old-time movie

I'll tell you about the magic and it'll free your soul

But it's like tryin' to tell a stranger 'bout rock and roll

5 mill is not really eating up cap space. I believe the Wolves have an option for the second year, so it's not a cap destroyer. It's low risk/high reward for the Wolves.

This. He is pain free for the first time since...he started playing a lot of basketball. The treatment makes his knees feel better. Playing basketball will make them feel worse.

He'll be the exact same player he was his last year for us. A spot up jump shooter who hits 40% of his FGs and has very limited mobility. He might have a few big games, but I think his comback attempt is pathetic. He can't change the fact that he has no meniscus. Take your money, take your pain free knees and do something else with your life.

Remember last December when Iasaiah Thomas was claiming that Roy was in amazing shape and that the Blazers shouldn't amnesty him. Then like 4 days later Roy is retiring.

Roy himself said his knees felt great and he was planning on playing right away up until a couple days before he retired.

You will get a game out of him that will make you think he's back, baby, back! Then six games of basically nothing, then a week on the inactive list, then another game of "WOO BABY!" It's going to be frustrating for you if you care much about the money spent or have an emotional attachment to him. It was just gutting for a lot of us in 2010-11.

He was never a good defender. His last active year, he was literally worse than playing with 4 players on defense. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE could beat him on the dribble, and players went at him constantly in a post situation, which he couldn't handle at all. His amazing dribble moves on offense became a wince-inducing stumble straight at the basket with a scream of "and one!" every time, but never getting it. At this point, Jarryd Bayless would give you more in that vein with better speed and a little actual defense.

Hope for nothing, for that's exactly what you'll get.

Yea then he saw his doctor and was told if he continued playing he wouldn't be able to walk without a Cain in his 40s.
