I think I would be good with Minnesota's and Memphis' picks, plus some expirings. I'd also be happy with Williams straight up

    Totally agree.

Why help a division rival? If you're going to help them, they should be overpaying us. With this deal, I could see them being, maybe, 7-8 in the West. So we get a weak draft pick (in a draft some are completely panning) and one-year rentals? I'd match and tell that bitch to step up his game. Or tell Minne to step up to the plate with a real offer if they really want him.

    Umnokthanx

I just don't see how this is "ruining" the future as it's only a four year deal. This isn't the old days where we were talking about 6 or 7 year deals and we were stuck with a player for the better part of a decade. Let's say he gets marginally better, but does improve in 2 years, then he'll only have 2 years left and by that point with the cap going up and other contracts going up, he'll most likely be right in line with what we are paying him. Makes he easier to trade.

Yeah, when this deal expires, he will be all of 27. Keep him.

I'd consider dealing him to Minne for Pek, though.

Yeah I agree as well. The pick just isn't worth much. We would be better off letting him walk so we could go the "unbalanced trade" route rather then taking back any players. Even though Webster and Miller are decent back ups. I guess if it was just the picks and no players we would be OK.

But I say we match as well unless Minnie ups the ante.

Let him go under no circumstances. It's smart for us, and keeps Kevin Loves stuck in lottery hell where he and his Dad can bitch and complain like they do best.

Maybe some of you are overvaluing Batum?

My other issue with a trade taking back player is it not only helps them land batum, it helps them more be able to add Roy,a nd potentially other players. no thanks. I'll take picks and a TPE, which means THEY need to cut the players, and they don't get the MLE.

This past season you wouldn't move him fo Rondo, yet you'll move him for a pick in the late teens?

Probably. But we can't land a good free agent. We would have to over pay for a RFA. Any unbalanced trades would include a player the other team has elected to get rid of. And building through the draft might be our best option but it is painfully slow. And gutting the team in the process creates a losing atmosphere that no one wants to be a part of. Not a pretty picture.

I say keep Nic unless they up the ante.

Painfully slow... I don't know about that. You just have to enjoy watching plays, and not winning games.

i just don't want a pick in the late teens/early 20's in a top heavy draft. Even adding Memphis' pick in that same area doesn't do much for me and the last thing I want to do is take back some of their garbage, albeit one year, contracts to help Minny out.

I am not saying trade him for a pick in the 20's. But trading him for two picks in the 20's Minnesota/Memphis, while still being able to add talent via a trade with now two firsts to entice a team to trade salary for, might be better than a very good role player that might not want to be here 100%

I am amazed with currently no cap space, they have offers in, seemingly, to Shved, Roy, Batum and Stiemsma.

How is it overvaluing when I'm just not willing to take back a steaming pile of crap for Batum?

    Quality over quantity, I thought?

A mid-to-late teens draft pick in a crappy draft and some shitty vets on expiring deals? If that's overvaluing..... we're fucked anyway. I'd rather let Batum walk.

I would imagine there are other interested teams, like Sac or Cle for sure. A sign and trade for Evans from Sac? Cle I think has a lot of picks, there are other options besides Minny
