If he was Sabonis, he'd just claim he can't speak English, and it was lost in translation.

This seems like the most realistic deal in the first two pages of this thread.

Definitely the most realistic. And definitely one I wouldn't make.

agreed. Why take on Korver's 500,000 buyout? Waste of 500,000. Oh, because Minnesota needs to move someone. Meh, fuck 'em.

Ridnour would be more valuable to this team than Batum ever will be. Korver, not so much.

I saw Korver play 66+ games last season, plus the season before. He's not bad at all. He's a shooter, not a scorer, but he had a handful of decent scoring nights. He's a deadly 3pt shooter and shoots well off screens.

His defense is a lot better than I expected, considering he isn't so athletic.

8.5 PER against at SG, 11.6 against at SF

Is he a starter? Probably not going to get starter's minutes, but if you're going to do an SF position by committee, he's a solid guy to have around. You'll always want him on the floor at the end of close games, since he's a very good FT shooter and also can't be left alone at the 3pt line.

Plus he looks like Ashton Kutcher.

I just kind of want PA to tell Khan to fuck off. I don't want petty shit for Batum. I would rather get nothing and not tie up our resources while helping out a division rival and rewarding an agent for being a prick.

It's important to get these other guys signed first before they have to sign Nic or take back other contracts in a S&T. The Blazers can go over the cap to sign Nic, but not to sign free agents. If Nic actually gets an $11M plus deal, that eats up something like $6M more of the cap space than his current cap hold does.

We're not going to be able to trade Batum for our future perfect fit at SF!!!! It doesn't work that way!! Sheesh people.
We're collecting assets, assets that will work for us in a proper timeframe.

Its probably Kyle Korver. Why, you ask??? Korver is an experienced SF who knows what he is. He's not (never has been, never will be) a starting level SF, except for starting for us this next year while grooming Babbitt and Claver. He won't throw a tizzy-fit when we ask him to sit down. But he will stand in the corner and hit 3's.

Why else? Because he's only under contract for another year. $5M bucks will be expiring for us next summer!!! Together with Thomas' deal will make enough room that we'll have as much cap space as we had this offseason to spend. Not that the FA market is any better next July, it isn't, but the un-equal trading will allow us to do some creative things.

Most importantly......are you listening.......is that we'll be bad enough to earn another Lottery pick next year. Another chance at Lottery greatness!!!
