Nic for Korver and a late 1st and I'll cry. More lottery balls though.... I guess.

If we're letting Batum go a player I like from the T-Wolves is Luke Ridnour. The kind of PG that can be a good backup to Lillard and also play with him.

I just saw that ESPN insider had something about a possible Minny, PDX, Chicago deal; does that mean Luol Deng could be the SF?

Seems more likely it means Korver is the SF.

    That would SUCK!

I have insider, and don't see anything about Deng. It's reportedly Korver, which wouldn't be horrible for cap purposes next year, along with our own lottery pick and two additional 1sts. I would think it would cost more though

So, does ESPN say anything about Korver, or is that from a different source? I know for sure that Olshey is not going to let Batum go for two late picks and Korver; i will guarantee it right now, just like Broadway Joe guaranteed a super bowl victory!

What doesn't make sense about this is, why would Portland say "go out and get us Korver, and you've got a deal"? Korver may technically be a SF, but he's no better than anything we could pick up from the veteran's minimum free agency pool. A not-very good player at any other position would seem to serve the purpose just as well. Why wouldn't we just take Ridnour, if Ridnour is what MN would be giving the Bulls for Korver?

We called their bluff, and now Minnie is taking it to the next step and continuing to raise the pot. They are going through the motions hoping we flinch.

Is there much difference between Korver and Luke? Maybe if you were a title contender, but really how much difference is there. They both are designated outside shooters. Claver needs minutes as well. I just don't see Korver as a keeper. I would rather have Wes Matthews as my SF than Korver.

If the compensation wasn't so poor I'd agree. Frankly I'd rather have cap room to make an unbalanced trade than two picks in the twenties in what many are predicting will be a terrible draft.

If Minny wants Nic that badly, they can just give Portland more for him. Or no deal. Hardball, Neil!

Agreed. Any while we're at it, pick up Webster or Darko on the cheap, and then match Batum. I still don't see what leverage Kahn thinks he has here - if Batum REALLY wants to play in Minny, decline our match, and sign for the QO. We get Nic for 1 more year and can plan around not having him in 2013.
