    I would have taken Williams. But the bottom line is why does Minnesota want Batum so badly if Williams is good as I think he is. Doesn't make sense if they really offered him in a S&T

    If he is ONLY a PF then I can understand why we would pass. But I think he can play both.

    If it's "and" then yes I agree. Or is a different matter. There's talk of motivation issues with Williams last season, and questions about whether he's a real SF. The picks might be low lotto to late first round depending on how well Batum does with the team. So it's not as awesome a deal (especially if it's an "or") as everyone assumes.

    Williams has skill set to be a small forward but needs a 3 point shot, so right now he's a power forward.

    There was no motivation issues with Williams, he's already dropped 18 pounds and had nose surgery.

    If we sign Batum to 11 mil per year, we still have about 42 mil commited next year, so we should have enough to offer a max contract to someone. (or do a lop sided trade).

    Some names Portland might be interested in. I can definitely see us throwing the max at Lawson or Harden just to drive their price up.

    Dude shot 57% from 3 his last year in college.

    The 64k question is: can he lighten up enough to be quick enough to guard 3's? On a brutal team last year where he played out of position and behind K-Love and Special Sauce, he didn't quite reach his potential, I don't think.
