I guess if all parties agree they can rip up the offer sheet and do a S&T is what some have said on here.

If all sides, min, batum, and portland agree on renouncing the offer sheet. it can happen.

Um, first, the 16.6M they have in cap space is if Batum walks and includes Freeland, Claver, Barton, Leonard, Lillard, Hickson and Thomas (along with the regular 5 guys LMA, Wes, Babbitt, Nolan, E-Will) and stretch buyout of S. Williams. Even if we match Nic we have almost 6M left. Not "locked up cap space." "Locked up cap space" is what happens when you have an 11M starting offer sheet out, can't touch your money for 3 days, and promised Roy 5M of it when it opens up.

Don't let facts get in the way of their "if you don't let the Wolves have Batum you're SO stupid" argument.

Can't. Roy can't be a Blazer until the duration of the amnestied contract expires.

I dont mind matching Batum. He will be 3m overpayed but the FA market is dried up and next years isnt that great at the 3. No way in hell do I want us to let Batum walk then try and get an overpaid worse SF(Gay).

When we match Batum I see us doing one of two things.

    1. Move Wes before the deadline for expiring contracts to create more cap space for next offseason.

    2. We move some of our expiring contracts to a team before the deadline for a player we deem can be a part of our core.
