OK, since it keeps on keeping on, an OT of the OT that should make everyone laugh ... then back to Haynes et al. (whenever I see that name I think stockings)

Pat Robertson's group has its own news service. Mostly they take stories from the wire services. Their software is programmed to automatically change the word "gay" to "homosexual" because they say being gay isn't gay.

So a few years back in the World Track and Field Championship, a man by the name of Tyson Gay won the 100 meter. The winner of that race gets the title of World's Fastest Man (or Woman, for the women's race). So headline in Robertson's new service:

HOMOSEXUAL IS WORLD'S FASTEST MAN

and the story ran something like (forget exact wording):

They later fixed after loads of laughs.

Yeah earlier in this thread, he was talking about how he's glad we are matching because he's not worth the contract. Now he's being all butt hurt about PDX matching.

To be fair, several of the posters here have changed their tune about matching. In fact, that was the point of the whole SF wages thread.

Of course, I don't really feel the need to be fair to the Minny fans who don't seem to have any sense of decorum.

 

I think the Minny fans are realizing that we actually hold the cards. People were thinking Khan would have the last laugh; but in reality Portland could really fuck Minny sideways. Wait until the last minute, sign Lee and then match Batum's offer sheet. Basically screwing Minny from landing any free-agents worth a shit.

 

I was one that was against the "matching offer" earlier. I will admitt it 100%. But after it was explained that we have a good possibility to have 15.9 mil free next summer; it didn't look bad at all.
