Hopefully this means Pavlovic will be waived to make room.

Sign me up. I think he would be great to have back. Could really help Leonard learn NBA defense and toughness.

Someone would have to be waived or traded, right?

    Bring back the Gorilla.

Would rather have Pavlovic for a backup 3, than Babbitt for a 3.5/4/whatever the heck he is.

Wonder if the potential knee injury to Freeland has the Blazers thinking that they need to have plenty of reserve "bigs"

I'm not sure Joel "moves the needle" Portland has a shit load of bigs without Freeland

    Aldridge
    Hickson
    Leonard
    Claver
    Babbitt

He doesn't "move the needle". Which is why if he's brought back, it will likely (it better be!) be a short-term contract.

I don't really care much either way, he was very terrible his last two seasons. I just don't know if he'll ever regain the athleticism to be a decent bench player like he once was. I guess I'm somewhat concerned he could get minutes I'd rather see go to Hickson, Freeland, or Leonard. Also would he eliminate our chance of being a few bucks under the cap and gaining a small asset in a trade? But we may have actually stayed over the cap this offseason so then signing Pryz wouldn’t have any effect…

He would be a familiar face to have on the team so that would be fun from a fan perspective. I don’t think it’ll help us in any way basketball wise but if it doesn’t hurt then what the heck sign him up.

I like the idea of bringing him in as a mentor for Leonard. I think Joel would like the kid.

Why not include Batum in this list if you're going to list Babbitt and Claver, players who are expected to play at the 3?

Really? At least Babbitt can shoot.

Pavlovic hasn't had a PER over 8.6 in 5 seasons. He's a throwaway player who will be thrown away soon enough.

We need consistent rebounding to go along with our defense if we want any chance of success. Joel gives us both.

At least Pavlovic can play defense.

With Batum's fat contract, and all of those guys at 4, no way they let Batum get knocked around by bigs

I'm not against signing him, but I think a lot of people need to recognize that his best days are well behind him.

I agree with this. Babbitt's the one to go, not Sasha. If Babbitt stays, maybe Joel could teach him how to play center. Babbitt's not a SF.
