I don't see much point in using a roster spot on Przybilla. If it gets to the point that he gets playing time, we've got bigger problems because Hickson/LA/Freeland/Leonard suck or are injured.

If you want him as a mentor, hire him as an assistant coach or whatever.

Everyone keeps listing Hickson as a substitute at center, but he's not big enough. He's a PF who can look spectacular when he plays like a SF. He subs down, not up.

We need Przybilla because Freeland has been injury-prone for years, Leonard missed a third of his college games, and without Jerry Sloan coaching us, Aldridge is a pussy. We need Przybilla.

Hickson gets listed as a center because he'll probably start at "LMA doesn't want to be called Center" while LMA starts at "please call me a Power Forward", like Dante Cunningham did a while back.

Also, I totally miss the days when Sloan coached LaMarcus and he was all tough and shit.

The starting unit on opening day will most like be:

    Lillard
    Matthews
    Batum
    Aldridge
    Hickson

Position does not matter. Those are the five best right now.

I wouldn't rule out Leonard, Freeland, or Przy at the 5, at least to start games. The bench is very thin, and Hickson's scoring and rebounding may be better used by playing fewer minutes with LMA, even if it's only an extra 6 minutes or so of time with LMA off the floor and Hickson on it, instead of them playing together.

Yes, they're the best 5 unless we get Przybilla. (When Hickson was cut, I was his biggest advocate here.) But we should trade Babbitt for a #2, have Hickson sub at PF and SF, and start Przybilla at C.

If we don't sign Joel, Jeffries could be a placeholder at C while Leonard and Freeland sit on the bench in foul trouble every game. I just don't see Hickson as a reliable C.

Can never have to many bigs. Coming in at 18th in DRB% and 22nd in ORB% last year, we need all the help we can get on the boards.

Absolutely. Bringing back Przy is much more important than having Pavlovic wearing street clothes every night behind the bench.

I could maybe see Freeland starting, but I think they'll work Leonard in slowly. I think it will either be Hickson or Freeland starting on opening day, but my gut says Hickson only because he's a proven commodity in the NBA.

I agree. After looking at Pavlovic's stats, I have concluded that he is horrible.

I'm sorry, but did any of you see him play last year? I love Joel too, but other than not being able to jump, run, or shoot, he would be a great addition. Dude is done.

I've advocated bringing in Joel to teach Leonard the Joel Way of the Warrior since before we drafted him. Coach or player, either way. I'd rather it be as big man coach or trainer. Give those knees a rest, Joel.

Didn't read the whole thread....... don't need to..... i know more then all of you combined. That said, I think Joel would be a perfect mentor of Leonard. Instill that kick ass and take names mentality! I do know that Joel kinda' wants to finish up his career close to home with the Bucks...... but we'll see.
