To me, if these are the final four I just give it to Canales.

Which sort of underscores for me just how much of a dog and pony show this whole coaching search really was.

When Olshey went overboard gushing about Kaleb during his introductory press conference, I'm guessing he realized that he had to do a little damage control. I guess it's still a remote possibility that KC isn't the man, but frankly, I'll be shocked.

Exactly... it's almost like a police lineup where everyone is morbidly obese and there's one skinny guy and the witness is trying to identify the skinny guy. This sure seems like a stacked deck.

Try to stay positive, Nancy, even when it's unrealistic. ;]

I find them all unacceptable. And I'm not about to give this organization the feeling as a fan that they are. I expect way more. And as all Blazer fans should. Just because these are the four finalists doesn't mean I have to follow along, pick one and be happy about it.

    Not going to happen.

Why expect the worst case scenario? I don't think it will be Caleb.

I don't think it's necessarily Olshey/Allen's fault those are the finalists. It seems to me the next coach will be asked to develop players at the expense of wins. I'm not surprised a lot of candidates would decide that's "not a good fit".

Clifford or Turner could be the next Thibodeau. None of us have the slightest clue.

I also like Mystery Candidate. He must certainly be awesome if we have to protect his identity. ;)

Honestly, I'd be happy with that. He'd have to be a glutton for punishment to get himself into another tough coaching situation, but he's a Blazer for life in my book.

Maybe it's Rick Adelman. Let's buy him out. The Minny War is the most NBA fun I've had in a while.

Terry Porter is one of my all time favorite Blazers but I don't want him as head coach right now. I think he'll be too similar to Nate.

Exactly. How many of the current coaches in the NBA did all of you want the day the guy was hired? I bet less than 5

I wanted McHale (or Adelman) to replace McMillan. Carlisle was hotly debated back then. Thibodaeau was also known on this board. Not a head coach but often lobbied for around these parts is Budenholzer.

Other than that, I have said repeatedly that I don't nor should I be expected to know who the next generation of great basketball minds toiling behind the scenes are. Not my job, but there are those who are paid well to know such things.

    No Nate McMillan protege's please.

Kaleb's biggest downfall to me is that he has only learned under Nate.
