Maybe grades? Character? The coaches haven't completed their background check/due diligence process with him? I'm not privy to the details as to why individual offers go out, but having followed this for a while, what seems most important is that both sides continue to be in contact Robert Nkemdiche has a Duck offer. He stated in a rivals interview this past week that he still plans on taking a couple OVs this fall despite already being verbally committed. The two schools he mentioned in order were Oregon & USC. Robert Foster is another top rated kid who continues to express UO interest... should be a fun fall STOMP
Huh, I see. But with USC full I don't think Nkemdiche would go there. He'd piss off a lot of SEC fans and his Clemson team if he backs out(and especially after Clemson gave out offers to his HS teammates, which IMO was a shady move on Robert's part). Getting Foster out of Alabama's grip should be fun. Alabama doesn't have NFL prime QBs but they can make good receivers(Julio Jones) so I think that appeals to Foster. But if Mariota will be more of a passer, Foster could develop here. Also the same for RSJ as well.
I saw both guys in video interviews on rivals. Trust me at your own risk btw... the 6 schools Foster listed were Alabama, Oregon, Pitt, Michigan State, Michigan, USC. He said he probably takes visits and announces on signing day. STOMP
In other news: Jason Hatcher of Louisville Kentucky commits to USC. He's the 2nd best ranked prospect in the state, 9th Weakside DE in the nation, and 241st National prospect. http://rivals.yahoo.com/usc/football/recruiting/player-Jason-Hatcher-101097 4 DBs, 4 DEs, and 1 LB. Quite the defensive class. Shame people don't appreciate Oregon :/
I did see something on Duck Territory where he expressed interest. But only say he was "considering".. which is no guarantee at all.
Foster's options: Alabama: Could be the next Julio Jones if he goes, but the new Offensive unit thats going to be more pass happy remains to be seen, and they are more run first and won't harness him for the next level. USC: their out of scholarships so no. Pitt: Possible, but they'll get wailed on in the ACC. Michigan: Could be Shane Morris' #1 target for years to come. Probable. MSU: Team lacks a QB, but he can develop under MSU's system. They can win. Oregon: If Mariota is more pass-first, Foster can develop. Outcome: I see him going to Michigan.
Prevot commits to USC http://rivals.yahoo.com/footballrec...evot-136072;_ylt=Au0._DLbvhHfLXhXEoWFMe9DPZB4 Man Oregon just can't catch a break
USC has layed out their hand now.... We know the size of their future defense so now it's chess time...... Time to find some big Oline players to neutralize the lack of height that this USC defensive class has. Redmond is a great start! If our speedsters get into the open field they are gone.... Now we need to have the right gap monsters to make sure USC can't find them first in the holes till they're a blur heading to the endzone.... Our height here will be an enormous advantage especially for guys like Tyner and DAT, who only need a step to be lethal. Looking at USC offense they need to be worried about our defense for years to come as well.... Arik Armstead, Bair, DeForrest Buckner and USC not having Matt Kalil type to protect their QB's. We'll have a major height and speed advantages on them in this area.... We need to pick up a solid LB or two, some secondary help and then I'd focus on making sure our O line is SEC tall and Oregon quick to give this undersized USC defense fits.... Please note the tallest player USC has in the AMAZING recruting class is the QB.... the rest are sub 6'4 and sub 300 pounds....
should be interesting to see Chip's counter moves. He does well closing the deal with his in home visits, it seems. I look forward to see how this class ends up
I COULD see Chip stealing USC commits, like maybe Eddie V(to play Baseball) and Prevot(who changes his mind, but he wants to go into the business program there :V). And there's the Silas Redd issue where they need to forsake a scholarship for the RB. Maybe they can get rid of Redfield for Silas then lose the other 2 mentioned(due to the Recruiting Hype of USC) and then... USC would get Justin Connor and Tahann Goodman(still waiting on getting an offer for him).
All USC fans are gushing about this recruiting class, until they actually have to suit up together. These many egos on one team may be similar to the Laker team that had GP, Malone, Kobe and Shaq on it.... Tons of fire power and no chemistry= no championship! Pete isn't there to keep all these guys HA$$Y, the true test of how great Lamo is as a coach may be appeasing all this talent! On a side note, when Oregon levels USC this year by 21 on their field which will happen because our whole defense will be playing this year, and we wont spot them 14 points all these recruits will go OOOOOOOO shit we're on the wrong team. Honest USC fans know they escaped Autzen last year, that will not happen this year!
Start sweating. Silas Redd of Penn State as officially transfered to USC. That's 2 1000 yard rushers they have. If what happens happens GP, we could get a few commits to slide our way, if it happens which can happen.
Loving the addition of Redd to USC! Gives us one of the top backfields, as well as top WR core and top QB in the nation.
yes i am. Just have to piggyback the Ducks forum to talk college FB, since I'm not going to hunt out an LA forum for it.
I have SC forum here btw. I like Oregon and USC(grew up in SoCal most my life, went to college in Ashland for a quarter when Ducks went to Glendale).
