I (or the Realtor of your choice) can get you a small stickbuilt home in Madras or Prineville, or any one of many rural communities, for that amount. Let your tenant pay it off for you and cover the maintenance for you and sell it when the market is right. Historically, like over the last 80 years or so, real estate values in Oregon have averaged around 6-7% a year. Having a renter eventually pay back your initial investment is icing on the cake.
I've actually had a discussion about a rental with both the Secretary of the War and Secretary of the Finance, errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr, my wife, but was rebuffed.
Actually, I was busy. That's cool, though. The Ducks play USC on the road, and Stanford at home. Should prove interesting.
