Houston plans to give James Harden a four year, $60 million extension once deal is completed, league sources tell Y! Sports.

Omer Asik is a very good player. Check his numbers in pre-season. He's gonna be in the running for DPOY for years.
Terrence Jones has looked good. Motiejunas could surprise. Royce White oozes talent. And Chandler Parsons is going to explode this year, mark my words. They are NOT "a bunch of scrubs".

Wow, Morey has redeemed himself pretty successfully after all the shit he got for stockpiling picks and failing to get Howard.

Although, some people are still acting like Asik was a bad signing. Down the road he'll look better than Lin. (Who won't look bad, no matter what dipshits like Kenny Smith say.)

Has he agreed to that? He could still test the waters.

I wouldn't pay Harden, either. Neither team gets better, IMO. Houston will be saddled with Harden, and OKC already has a PG. I suppose their future picks are nice, but they're a win now team. I love this trade for us.

OKC could potentially use martin's huge expiring to get better at the trade deadline. that option might be part of the plan.

Has his role changed dramatically since last season? No. Was he, like all star players, probably coasting in preseason? Yes. So what's the point?

Asik suddenly got expanded minutes, so it's worth seeing what he could do with them. Rebound like a motherfucker, is what.

Sure, they mostly are unproven players. But that is what is scary about them, you don't know what to expect. Most NBA players given an opportunity can become great NBA players. McHale is pretty good at getting something out of his players.

You know, for downgrading from Harden to Martin/Lamb, OKC picks up potentially two lotto picks this year and CHA's 2nd rounder (which'll be 31 or 32).

Ah. Certainly will be. Did not know about his contract. Well played, OKC. Harden will be the classic case of loafing after payday. Guaranteed.

Have they shown themselves to be aggressive with big expirings yet?

This is a decent, ok, long term move, but for a team so close, it seems so much like a cheap, low budget move.Good luck OKC. Harden at least tried to play D. Martin....? lol

I don't know about big expirings, but they've been masters of getting assets out of cap space.

ITS GREAT THAT OKC IS REBUILDING.

    :biglaugh:

face it, they lost an olympian basketball player and a crucial part of their basketball team that made it to the NBA finals in his early 20s for a rookie + a volume scorer who won't be there after his contract expires. nothing more than saving money when they should be going all in. you don't fuck your franchise up when you're in your prime championship window.

2-17 game is some pretty serious coasting. might have just coasted himself out of a ring.

i wasn't necessarily disagreeing about asik. agree he's an underrated defensive player. one of those 2nd rounders we should have kept.

You may be right. A lousy team, a starter role, a bling contract... it's a recipe for retiring on court.
