I am actually pretty excited about this. I just hope Disney doesn't ruin it.

Plus Lucas will only be a "creative consultant", there is hope!

Is this the New Republic, Jedi Academy series with the suncrusher? I forget which ones I have read and which ones I have not.

Ahh, google tells me I was thinking of the Jedi Academy trilogy. I don't think I read the Thrawn series. I will have to check it out.

A bit off topic, but somewhat relevant...how do I introduce my 4 year old son to Star Wars in a couple years? Do I start out with Star Wars/New Hope and watch in the same order they were released? Or do I start out with Phantom Menace and end with Return of the Jedi? I was thinking New Hope first like we all watched them, but he's seen the Clone Wars cartoons and I know he'll be confused to see that Storm Troopers are bad guys.

I've got the boxed set sitting on the shelf waiting for him to be old enough, so I've got time to ponder this difficult and important problem.

Start him off with the soundtrack to New Hope. Put it on repeat, and let it play while he sleeps. Then, when you hit "play" on the movie for the first time, the music will grab his attention.

I also recommend a repeating loop of the phrase "L*ker Hatred is a Moral Imperative, and is not subject to conditional modifiers." I recommend you get Morgan Freeman to do it...

I very well may do that first recommendation. As far as the second goes, I don't think you can start instilling hatred in a child too young. Even by age 3, he reacted viscerally against people wearing Yankees, Cardinals or Duck gear. My favorite part is that he'll tell someone wearing a Cardinals hat that he "hates the team, but likes the bird". He doesn't say that about the ducks, so I take that to mean he doesn't like either the fowl or the dweeby dude wearing sparkly green neon. He's not yet learned to hate the Lakers, but it's high time, especially given the built up hatred that he already has for those other teams.

Quick newsflash: Star Wars is a PG franchise with cuddly toy tie-in characters.

Now, an Indiana Jones Pixar movie?
