2-2 is about 2 wins more than I thought we'd have to start the year. The team has a lot of work to do, a lot of rookies and a lot of holes ... but call me crazy, I think they'll eventually be in pretty good shape (assuming they get another legit player in the lotto this summer and can pick up some quality depth for their bench).
I'm trying not to. Jordan's Bulls usually took their lumps on the Texas road trips. I'll take one win (against a red hot Houston) for this young team. I'm not expecting 60 wins. I just want some entertainment and 41 wins.
I think you can safely assume there will be a decent amount of the former ... the latter is a big reach IMO.
I'm not down. I wish Damian had a better game though. Less three pointers, rook! I kinda wish Stotts would run some isolations for him. Movement is fine and all, but sometimes you just need a guy to take over.
Dallas was blitzing him all throughout the second half. isolations might have been OK if he'd been prepared and knew what to do with the ball in that situation. His rookie-ness was on display tonight with his shot selection and how to handle the different look on defense.
They were blitzing him because Portland kept bringing the high pick. Let him go 1 on 1 and they can't double him without leaving a guy wide open.
I'm sure we figured he would have up and down games. Maybe he shouldn't take 8 three point shots, but a lot of them were opened he was just off. Dude is still deadly from the outside so I'm ok with it. But yeah taking it to the hole would be great too.
Blaze01 is right for one night Lillard look liked Mo Williams tonight. Not a good showing by him. Dominique Jones and Collison ate his lunch.
Leonard took some wild, uncontrolled 8-footers under close defense when he should have passed back out.
