Absolutely not. I'm just comparing the look and drive. You can just see it. Lillard could be half the talent Roy is but have almost the same amount of value. We need a leader on this team and we lost that leader when we lost Roy. I think Aldridge is the best player; but sits low on the roster in terms of leadership quality. I see Matthews as that leader now and hopefully soon Lillard.

Surely, you had to have picked up on my sarcasm. I mean, I see your response, like you're ignoring my sarcasm. But please tell me you picked up on it.

Yup. How many times did Lillard hit an open teammate for a mid-range jumper and it didn't fall? Pretty much the only guy who was delivering for him was Aldridge. He should have had at least four more assists last night. The other thing is, he was getting wide open threes. They just weren't falling for him. I'd like to see him go inside a bit more because the refs were giving him the calls. I don't think the Dallas defense affected him nearly as much as people are saying. He just had a poor shooting night.

If anything, I think it was Collison getting him into foul trouble that affected him the most. He wasn't nearly as aggressive on defense the rest of the night, and it threw his rhythm off because he had to sit early. I just think his teammates need be more proactive when the defense is trying to trap him, and they need to hit their open jumpers when he finds them out of the double team. If the rest of the team can't make the opposing defense pay for leaving them open, it will be a long season.

That's great, but what did you see that was different? He still had open looks. He still found open teammates. If he had hit even half the threes he put up, he would have had over 20 points again and nobody would be saying anything. He just plain and simply missed wide open threes. If a "bad game" from Lillard is 13 points, 5 assists, and 3 boards... I'll take it.

Yep. Remember from yesterday how rare a 15/5 season is for any rookie? I was actually relieved to see him play so poorly, yet still put up numbers. As noted, if he hit 2 more threes, he's at 19/5/3.

He did, but you could tell his timing and rhythm were thrown off. He didn't look particularly comfortable.

    He'll adjust (hopefully).

I agree. Several shots just barely missed and were in a nice pace. I don't remember seeing him take a bad shot. And, he didn't take 20--he took a reasonable number of attempts. If this is a bad game for him then I can live with that.

That's on Damian, but it's also on Stotts and his teammates.

This was an interesting part of a article from Quick today on the issue.

You'll make a fine Republican. Just keep watching the Faux News and listening to Ruppert Murdoch Radio.

Clearly you haven't seen the Democrats in California.

I have not. Between guys like Brown and the Governator, you have my sympathies.

BTW: I was just ribbing you. You have to admit, the quote: "I'm in voter mode right now. Not thinking clearly." was just too good to pass up. :)

The sympathies started with Gray Davis. He was the one that destroyed us. Enron is the first thing that comes to mind.

No worries. Good to know you're asleep at the wheel on Super Tuesday!

For the record, it was in reference to all the debates about whether or not Roy should have his number retired and whether he had done enough to warrant it. I say, no, fans were pre-ejaculating and making him to be the best ever in PDX. He coulda/woulda/should been, but he didn't quite stay the course after some amazing seasons early in his career.

But since we're annointing Lillard (and I am very excited for his future), I thought I'd poke fun at that past conversation.

That was my thought, too. His laying an egg is basically what a lot of people thought would be his average this year.

Darren Collison has been viewed as one of the best defenders of the pick n roll....as is Chris Paul......
